That BHG photo is over 15 years old. The west side has been expanded and looks a little nicer now. The rest of the stadium is about the same. The east and south sides look pretty bad. BHG is long overdue for an upgrade.

It be interesting to see how they expand/reno BHG, since it's so hemmed in by roads and buildings.
Looks like the best area to upgrade would be to demo what's on this side and incorporate what's there into the addition...

We could argue the degree of niceness, what we can't argue about are the numbers, and the ease of access to fans. Tiger Stadium wins hands down.
You get the corndog, I still haven't eaten one.

Kyle Field is the best stadium in the league
Agreed

No expansion will ever happen on the east side. And you have Stadium Road bordering the south side of the stadium, and Weil Hall (another protected building) on the other side of the road.

A 7 page discussion on which is the best stadium in the SEC when we all know it's Faurot Field.

I get that there's a problem, but both your new AD and coach seem determined to do something, and I don't blame them. It's past time.

Neyland does not have a higher capacity than Kyle....you should learn how to Google
Posted on 6/9/18 at 1:27 pm to texag7
Except I happen to know that Neyland Stadium is expanding/renovating.
ETA: Does it matter? Tiger Stadium is third in that area, and no worse than second everywhere else.
Which is my point.

Honestly, that overhead shot is not flattering. It looks like 4 different stadiums smashed together.

I would say 5. Kyle has that issue too. Bama did a great job keep it uniform.

How do you go about ranking sightlines? Because there really isn’t a bad seat in Sanford stadium

Any stadium with curved stands, I ranked lower, because the dead space at the 50 yard line meant everyone sat further from the field than at a stadium with straight stands.

Yeah, uniformly far from the field.
That's the problem with stadiums with curved stands like that.

I'm cool with Frank Broyles Field at Razorback Stadium. We are still one phase away from me claiming it's "the best" though. Gotta fix that west side facade and fill in 'the gap' for me to claim that. But it's nice in there, man.

Que? Tiger Stadium is curved in the north end zone, that's it. RRS is curved on the sidelines and the new addition.
As far as leaving RRS off the list, that was actually an oversight. My main beef with RRS seating is that so much of the suites are behind fixed glass. I don't really see the point of paying for that, might as well stay home IMO. But that's a separate issue.

Apparently you missed the part where I said I looked forward to seeing the stadium post reno. And it seems you've blocked out those last two years. It's ok.
Been to every stadium in the conference at least once. Mizzou I just looked at the empty stadium during a baseball trip. Really wish the SEC would go to a more reasonable schedule...but I digress again.

BDS's lower bowl is smaller than most stadiums. It holds 60k as opposed to Tiger Stadium's 67k.
It's much flatter, not as steep, smaller than most bowls so you are closer to the field than pictures show.
Close sidelines look logistically cumbersome, cramped.
Subjectively BDS and Kyle Field are the nicest in the SEC. But many SEC stadiums are aesthetically nice with new projects like MSU, Kentucky, UGA, Arkansas.
The additions to Tiger Stadium are nice too, the bones and base that Tiger Stadium has to deal with are probably a disadvantage to stadiums like BDS that have symmetry.
Another advantage is that the majority of Alabama's games were played in Birmingham and didn't move exclusively to BDS until 2004 so BDS didn't have as many gaudy additions over the years and otherwise didn't end up like a hodge-podge monstrosity like Happy Valley.
