Bama and LSU have really only ever played one game that mattered in baseball

Alabama is pretty bad...but it seems LSU is not playing their best ball this weekend. I fully expect LSU to win comfortably today

Quick question: Does Lsu beat Bama at any sport on a consistent basis?

I’m surprised an LSU fan hasn’t blamed the refs...er...umps, and the SEC office in Birmingham who has an Alabama alum assigning umps, or dodge chargers. But there is still time...all we need is a close game won by Alabama to be entertained endlessly.

Well, that’s baseball. It wasn’t one play.
Alabama came ready to play; our kids didn’t play as well as they could have.
I think Bama is a rising program and will be a contender with this staff.
Rubber match is today. Should be a good one.

Did I touch a nerve? Haha. I'm not trying to belittle Bama's wins against LSU in the past, but none of the other LSU/Bama baseball games that Bama won seemed to really matter. That was considered Bama's best baseball team ever and LSU beat them for the national championship. I do remember Bama destroying LSU by like 26 runs in the last regular season series, but then LSU came back and beat them the next day for the SEC regular season title.

Saw you in another thread and just wanted to say you’re a good dude.
Any ways, hope LSU can pull out a win today. We need it. If not, congrats on the weekend.

Im a former player...albeit a walkon. I hate to see the baseball program in the dumps like this. It requires a special coach to win here now since other schools have some advantages due to in-state scholarship programs(it can be done though!). May be a long road back to relevance

How may national championships does that Tide program have? It must suck that they actually play the College Series and Bama just can't start claiming all kinds of national championships in baseball too, huh?

Does Mizz beat anybody consistently?

We all know how hard it is to make it to the top of the heap. Having Skip’s birthday celebration made me remember just how big an achievement he made, during his career. What he did wasn’t easy, to say the least.
It takes a while to build a baseball program- or to rebuild one. From what I’ve seen (outside looking in), Alabama is moving in the right direction. They came over this weekend prepared to give us their best. And I believe they did.
It would be cool to see both teams compete again for titles against one another, like the great games we had, in years past. ‘97 was two of the greatest teams I’ve ever seen.
