Goddammit you are supposed to make fun of me for being obsessed with LSU or expecting my team to lose to O.
Now I just feel bad.... :(

Honestly I stopped reading your post after you said 10 wins. Unless you meant over the next two years

Yall have too much talent on the roster to win less than eight games next year.

I thought O got hired because of how good at recruiting he is

I always liked Les a lot. He probably should have taken the Michigan job when he had the chance though ... would have worked-out better for both programs.
I agree. He hung around... a couple of seasons longer then he should have hung around. I think he would have done better at Michigan then Harbaugh.
No one will hire him now, thanks to his age, but he'd be a very solid hire for a few years.

Les Miles was treated awfully by LSU. Miles is their all-time winningest coach.
LSU has a history of treating their iconic HCs shabbily. They shoved Cholley Mac out the door because (*surprise*) he couldn’t beat Bama.

I'll let the LSU fans debate on whether he was a good enough coach for them or not. I will only add that beating that 2011 Bama team on the road is among the greatest coaching feats I have seen. But the man is not only a class act, he gave some of the best pre and post game pressers in the history of the conference. A lot better than "yaw yaw yaw fuball, we coming".

He also had like a 50% record over his last 5 years but I like the Bama angle more. Let's go with that.

Wait until Joe gives O a raise for winning ten games (including the bowl and the A&M game this year) because he will feel justified in the hire at that point.
First of all,
Now, IF somehow we win 10 this year, Alleva isn't gonna be around to give ed a raise, but whomever replaces him might do it. 10 wins with our schedule warrants it, too be honest. I hope they just give him a bonus and then tell him he can go back to DL coach if he'd like to stay and work for the new HC.

I actually genuinely wonder what sorts of narratives the LSU fanbase had back then. I lived just across the river but never really talked a lot with hardcore LSU fans. The Saban/Bama angle was still years in the future, y'all had no major instate rivalry like most other SEC programs (I'm not counting Tulane after the '60s or so) and recruiting as a spectator sport was in its infancy. What issues garnered most of the discussion amongst LSU fans during that time?

Really want to see him on tv. Game long analysis from the booth may be too much for his attention span but I would love some halftime and post game on field interviews.

Les truly is an amazing person. It’s a shame he was such a bafoon as a head coach though

Me personally, i was just a wee lad in those days but it's seemed that the adults around me would be excited about a few players but not the team as a whole.

I truly believe that Aleva saw O's notebook and immediately thought that this will be just like Coach Red Beaulieu's notebook.
Nothing could possibly go wrong as long as O had that notebook.
Then Troy happened...
