Back in the early 70's Oxford had a place IIRC was called The Gin. Seems it was a old cotton gin turned into a bar. It was a good place...and about the only place in Oxford in the early 70's. I'm sure it's long gone.

I worked there for 2 years in the 1990's. It wasn't really a dive then, just a college bar. It is long gone, but there are rumors of its resurrection.

It burnt down sometime around 2010-2012. Friend of mine's family owned it when it was an actual operating cotton gin.
