If you think Kirby Smart is replacing Nick Saban

You're out of your mind. Saban is the original real deal doing everything his way - outcoaching every other coach in history including Bear Bryant. He's a once in a millennium coach. Kirby is copying Saban's preparation and it will help him structure Georgias practices and methods but Kirby isn't the transitional thinker Saban is - nor will he ever be. Kirby was outcoached in the NCG by a million miles. Saban went from being on the ropes in the first half to control every aspect of the game in the second half. Kirby doesn't have the gray matter to compete with Saban. Kirby signed a great recruiting class - now he has to win National Championships with them. He won't. Nick Saban is a genius. Kirby is just a football coach.

Duh. Honestly, who other than optimistic UGA fans think that? Kirby had a great year but to truly emulate Saban requires much more than that.
I hate the fact that he's at Bama but it would be idiotic to deny that he's the coach of his generation. Perhaps another will come along but until that happens there's simply no comparison.

UGA fans do not think Kirby is replacing Saban! We hope he can replicate some of what Saban has at Bama, but not of us honestly think he will be better than Saban. Yes he may have got out coached in the NC, but it wasn't by a million miles. They did take it to OT after all. We are definitely excited about how our future looks, and you can say whatever you want that makes you sleep better at night, but you know UGA will be competing with BAMA for top dog for the foreseeable future

The Bama talent advantage over uga is shrinking year by year. That was ultimately the difference last year.

contrary to popular belief, that dawgrant guy bailing on these mouthbreathers and pawning them off on us was one of the best things to ever happen to this place. they're the new lsu fans.

You're completely right, except for one thing. Geniuses don't become football coaches.

And we only lost by 3 points in OT?
Imagine what will happen when Kirby becomes a more experienced head coach.

Get real. You got crushed by 3 TDs in the second half of the most important College Football game Georgia has played in 37 years. Saban outcoached and Alabama outplayed Georgia to erase a huge lead and left Georgia powerless for almost the entire 2nd half. Kirby Smart is a batboy for Saban. The state of Georgia is rich with football talent and Kirby took advantage of Georgia's appearance in the NCG to keep more Georgia recruits home - now he has no excuse for losing. Kirby will feel immediate pressure to win now. Kirby is reactive, not deductive. Good teams will throw the fastball by Georgia and they'll end up losing the "BIG" games to smarter more strategic coaches.
Jeremy Pruitt is a much better coach than Kirby. Pruitt will have to win with inferior talent for a few years but he will outcoach Kirby in every contest - win or lose.

Y’all should have beaten uga long before overtime with all that talent.
What kept the game so close for 60 minutes since Bama had clear coaching and talent advantages?

Let's let Pruitt coach a game first. Pretty weird to see you shitting on a coach that had the longest time under Saban.

Math, not great, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised based on the dumb arguments you've made in the rest of this thread.

I'd agree with that. I don't know why the first half is not taken into account as well when considering the all-around coaching performance.

Saban's obviously a much more accomplished coach, but bat boy seems a little harsh considering what Kirby did last year.

So what you're saying is we were less talented, and we only lost by 3? Sweet. Look, you're insecure, and that's dumb based on everything Bama's accomplished, but also a little bit understandable seeing another team start to look like a threat going forward.

It's a good thing there aren't always very many of those on the schedule then.

I could not care less if he outcoaches Kirby. I just care about who wins.
