I've never hit with one-length irons or seen anyone use them, but originally I thought the idea was pretty interesting. I could definitely see the benefit of only having one ball position, stance width etc, but I bet you're right that you lose distance.
I am sure you can find a demo set at a shop or course somewhere and try it out. But it also may be a matter of ball position and distance from the ball with your lower irons.

That guy seems like a good dude, but holy shite is it excruciating to watch him play the game. I'm pretty sure he has that disorder where you have to wash your hands 500 times a day.
I mean , if Bubba is on the far end of the spectrum with his unorthodox creative style of instinct and feel, DeCahmbeau is on the exact polar opposite far end of the spectrum with his onorthodox mechanical-engineer's physics and science OCD approach.
Would be hilarious to watch them square off in a final group someday. They're both brilliant pioneers with the same exact goal.....it's just crazy to think about how opposite their methods of going about it are.
