Dude there is no way Thomas is the best player from Bama anymore

Derrick Thomas:
27 sacks in a single season (still NCAA record)
52 sacks in a career
39 TFL in 1988
7 TFL in a single game (vs Texas A&M in 1988)
Member College Football HoF
Member Pro Football HoF
9-time Pro Bowler
#3 in NFL fumble return for TD list
#4 in NFL safety list
Butkus Award winner

Interesting tidbit:
The Top 5 draft from when Thomas went into the NFL:
#1 Troy Aikman
#2 Tony Mandarich
#3 Barry Sanders
#4 Derrick Thomas
#5 Deion Sanders

4 of the top 5 are in the Pro Football HoF.
Green Bay still regrets drafting Tony Mandarich.

He also had 7 sacks in an NFL game. He was amazing no doubt. The OP said college career and Julio was the best WR in college football for 3 years. Imagine if he had a decent qb throwing to him and not The Ginger Herbstriet. He's a ungodly athlete that we may never see a player comparable at Bama ever again. If NFL career is included it would have to be Hannah. I doubt anyone could ever take that mantle. He's considered by some to be the best NFL player of all time.

Poor Mandarich. My dad still has a Sports Illustrated with him on the cover. Too much hype.
