I see no reason why not, but I'm betting no.

Per sauces...his parents are holding him out.

(Not my sauces, ESPN)

I'm beyond MPJ fatigue.

Play or don't play but stop cock teasing the fan base like a Hustler Club stripper.

I will be completely shocked if he plays for Mizzou ever.

The whole reason he had surgery was to avoid playing and get to the lottery pick. There’s no reason that’s changing now. It probably helps that Trae Young isn’t going to be player of the year after all. There’s no doubt MPJ misses the spotlight.

He's not dressed out, just in sweats right now.

He’s not playing per ESPN. The rumor about his parents must be true. Only a fricking retard wouldn’t start MPJ in a desperate game like this

His parents would have to be fuking retahds to let him play this season. Apparently, they are not.

The daily will MPJ play threads are quite entertaining though

I don’t know why he is even practicing then if he isn’t going to play.

I'm not calling his parents retarded, I'm calling Cuonzo retarded if his parents gave it the all clear and Cuonzo just didn't play him because of lack of practice time or something stupid shite like that.

He needs to start to get back in basketball shape. It makes sense.

He doesn’t want to play anymore than his parents want him to.

No chest. Just a gut feeling I have about him.

Yeah. Light practicing to start to get his legs under him. There is no way I'd play if I was him; or his parents. Not without a lobotomy. It's just foolish

The ESPN2 analyst said during the game he was shocked he didn’t play. Hell, even if he isn’t in game shape yet I’d still rather see him play than other guys off the bench.

ESPN analysts are given lobotomies when they are hired

To avoid playing?

Maybe it was to fix his back?

I've been able to avoid thinking/wondering about MPJ since he was pulled out of his only game. I've been convinced the whole Gonzo/Porter/Porter/Porter deal has been oh-so secretly choreographed from day one.

It's been great for fan interest (witness sold-out BB tickets) and seventeen jillion media/social media comments.

The most telling recent proof is head coach Gonzo not having the foggiest idea whether MPJ will play this season. "Gee golly, I don't know. We'll just have to see."

Please, give me a fricking break.

And the lingering, "Will MPJ go pro? Will Jontay return?

But it's been a well-scripted, entertaining drama, that's for sure.

I'm pretty jaded and cynical, but I have a completely different read on this. I went through this kind of injury when I was a student at MU deadlifting at the gym. Surgery was presented as the quickest alternative, but as the doc at Columbia Orthopedic group said 'it's not like you are a professional athlete'. So I rehabbed it with a PT, which took six months during which I was allowed no other sports activity, and then I was fine. Has never bothered me since.

I think from the moment he was injured he was done with this season if he had a lick of sense no matter how he treated it.
I think he wants to play, and I think he wants to come back next year, but he risks multiple millions of dollars to do either of those. He has a big family. Capitalism wins out like it always does.

Merica.

God dammit

Part of me says how much good can he be at this point anyways? Would take a half dozen games to really get into stride. But then I remember he doesn't have to be MPJ great. He just has to be better than CVL and he can help this team.
