Poking around on the website, I noticed some additions made that I thought were interesting. Under each teams page there is a section labeled impact games. It shows games that directly impact your RPI, ie the game that you have that day, and games that indirectly affect it although I've yet to see them put anything under that section. The more interesting part is that it shows how your game could affect your RPI, if you win you gain X points but if you lose you lose Y points. Finally, it shows how many points you need to move up in the RPI rankings and how many you can lose before you move down.

A look at how today's games could impact the rankings:

The No-win situations
Of the 12 teams playing today, State and Arky don't have games, 7 of them will lose RPI points no matter what the outcome. This is the outcome if each of those teams win:

USC -41
LSU -50
UF -87
Bama -104
OM -141
Mizzou -217
UGA -293

The Most to Gain

Should Auburn win their game tonight, they stand to gain the most RPI points out of the 5 teams that could potentially gain points. Those teams are

Auburn 190
UK 124
Utk 85
aTm 80
Vandy 55

The most riding on tonight's game

Finally, the biggest swing in points depending on the result is a tie between the aTm game and the OM game. Should aTm win, as stated above, they will gain 80 points, if they lose, however, they drop 444 points. OM is in the shittiest spot as if they win they still drop 141 points, but should they lose that number goes up to 665 points. The swing in points if the result is a loss vs a gain is:

aTm -524
OM -524
UGA -401
Vandy -395
USC -337
UK -316
Bama -312
Utk -308
LSU -308
Mizzou -284
Auburn -278
UF -250

you should - you're alive & living right slap in the middle of USC's now 5 consecutive decades of national success with the baseball thing.

Our early season non conference is pretty meh but good lord our SEC slate is brutal, especially when our midweek games are 2 against a ranked Clemson squad and 3 against tech

I’m really hoping to dig deep into the bullpen tonight to get some out relievers some game experience.
