Cuonzo or Bruce Pearl?
ETA: IMO Pearl is obviously the fav (should be) but Zo is closing the gap a bit.

Pearl will probably try bribing voters to get the award.

Pearl probably wins but the job Martin and his staff have done in one season is outstanding. Everyone had this team dead in the water when MPJ went down and the loss to Illinois had people going over the rails. They aren't a great team but defense always travels and they play tough.

Rick Barnes has to be the favorite, IMO.
Auburn had a lot of talent but hadn’t put it together. Tennessee just wasn’t expected to do anything and really wasn’t thought to have any players.
But Cuonzo has done a good job. If we have MPJ, he’s probably not in the conversation for the COY. But we were picked to finish about where we’re going to finish without a lottery pick.

After KA.... I'm happier then a pig in shite for MU/Coaches/Players to be in conversations regarding Coach of the year...... Players of the week..... The Big Dance.

I think it’s important to note that the two of the three main criticisms of Cuonzo just haven’t appeared.
1) Plodding offense
2) Underperforming talent level/expectations
3) In-game coaching
There’s been a few head scratchers for in-game coaching. But it hasn’t been awful. And defense has just gotten better and better.

Continue to add talent
Continue to improve offense
Figure out how to hold double digit leads late in the game.
As far as the end of this season.
Finish strong, and make a nice run if not win the SEC Tourney.
Both are very doable.

I think the best piece of coaching he has done has been managing the minutes for the big guys. They are so foul prone. Both Tilman and Porter. I think he's done a heck of a job of getting as much as he can from them while keeping them in games for as long as possible.

He has exceeded expectations

For the most part, I am more than please with the job he and his staff and the team are doing...if they can just get that inbounding the ball thing down though....lol
