UF removes east champs sign from swamp

After former coach Jim McElwain worked to get division titles recognized on the walls of the Swamp after his team won the SEC East in 2015 (and then repeated in 2016), current Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin made the decision to remove the recognition signage.
The signage had initially been located on the south end zone fascia, before the installation of ribbon video boards moved them to the north end zone fascia.

Good. We either celebrate a real trophy or not. To hell with participation trophies we should leave those to the less fortunate in the conference

Maybe it has more to do with how bad the East has been for so long.

Alabama should put up 2002,2013, and 2017 SEC West titles.

We’d have to put up all those real West titles too. That’s a lot of flags.

I kinda get it but if I was a Senior on either of those teams I'd be pretty pissed.Was it all on them that they didn't win a SECC?

Yep.Nevermind that we hold the same amount of SEC title game wins as Bama. Has nothing to do with Florida being good. Was always the East is bad

The whole SEC is down but there were still 4 SECw teams in the top 19 at the conclusion of the season. Only one SECe school in the top 25...

The argument wasn't that the east was stronger or even as strong. The argument was that the east was down. nobody is arguing that point. The point is it isn't like the West was historically strong. A team that lost 4 games won the West this year.

Who the frick said anything about being historically strong? Same team also beat two ranked number one teams this year. There were also two SECw teams that were playoff contenders all the way until the CCG as well. Whenever the West is putting 4 into the top 19, two into the playoff discussion, and is home to the NC, thats a pretty good year.

Lets see. Where to start. One lost to ND at a neutral site. One lost 4 games. One was beaten by 30+ points twice. Congrats on moral victories. Look. Auburn fans don't like to be trolled by Georgia fans? then they can stop trolling Georgia fans.
