Among the categories used to determine a city’s happiness were green spaces, galleries, coffee shops, breweries, music venues and Instagrammable moments.
Additionally, cities were rewarded for their tales of urban renewal, about collaborating to improve their Main Streets and pursuing development policies.

Sounds like this list was made by queers.

In other words they are ranked arbitrarily

Oddly seems legit as there are no TX cities on that list. Being serious too.

I am biased because I own a home there but I would put Golden, co at the top of any list.

Thanks for reinforcing the stereotypes.

Seriously though, what sort of man judges how good the city is by how many galleries there are? And coffee shops? And "Instagram" moments?
It's like they think everyone is a douche hipster.

Wrong board
Two SEC cities ... two that catch a lot of grief on this board, unjustly.
At least according to NatGeo Travel.
Also, clearly, NatGeo Travel thinks far more of the real Columbia than they do CoMo ... and they think far more of Red Stick than they do B-Ham.
This is the definitive last word on the subject the next time it comes-up.
NatGeo doesn't lie.

Wait, are you sure this isn't “best 30 cities if you want to get mugged?”

A few observations:
Really? I lived there for about 8 months in 2010/2011 and wasn't impressed.
Hagerstown is not much more than a place to get gas off of I-70 on the way to DC.
Pittsburgh is a lot of fun.
Charleston is even more fun.
I guess they didn't take into account the likelihood of being shot?

You so jelly.
Seriously though, your insecurities show in almost every post of yours.
Has it really gotten that bad in Knoxville? You've lost all hope evidently and have lowered yourself to this constant pathetic display of envy, insecurities and jellynous.

Well, I own a heavy equipment dealership and work with some of the most redneck guys you will ever know. I mean that as a compliment, because I am from a small town in East Texas and can “good ole boy” with the best of you.
And I like visiting cities with good art, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I’ve been to 50+ counties and lived overseas for a good chunk of my life. I’ve learned how to navigate around armpits of the world that the tourist books tell you are pretty dangerous, and I’ve been to some of the most beautiful places you can imagine.
And as soon as I figure out how to use Instagram as effectively as Facebook works for my business, I’ll be in that, too.
These are not mutually exclusive. If you think they are, then you are doing your part to promulgate the division.

Ann Arbor and Pitt aren't bad. Pitt is highly underrated. AA, as much as I hate the university there, is a nice town.
