Agreed, but that TO at the end can't happen

Geist is Geist.
That’s what you get when you put the ball in his hands at the end of the game.

The refs were terrible but at the end of the day, it was a tie game and we had the ball. All we had to do was call a timeout, make a plan, and execute. It’s one thing to miss the shot on the most important possession of the game, but to turn it over and give them the game winning points coming out of a timeout is unacceptable. There’s no excuse. The worst possible thing that could have happened

Play developed too slowly. There was nothing there and nothing happening.

Tilmon has been absolutely getting screwed on a lot of these calls. His 5th was unreal. It’s not a foul and it’s certainly not a foul at home for your 5th. That Kassius call as well, just unreal to call that. Again not a foul and certainly not a foul on the last possession of the game....I get that a foul is a foul either way, neither one was. Especially at home and in those situations though. You let the players decide the game if at all possible at the end of the game. Not on garbage leg kick three pointers on the last possession. Mizzou deserved to win that game today and the issue I have is it hurts our potentate seed come tourney time. We start receiving votes with that win, now I bet we don’t get any and get no credit in any way for a close loss that was stolen from us. Oh yeah and Geist just can’t throw it away there. Don’t have many other options though.

It’s like there’s a ref forum that refs post on and there’s a stickied thread that’s titled “Fouls to call on Mizzou’s Tilmon”

It's a real bummer.

I'm guessing around .500 in SEC play and likely the NIT.

I think we are headed to the NIT as well. Florida isn’t a good team and they came to COMO and beat us. There are much better teams left on our schedule. Our chances of getting to the tourney died 4 minutes into the first game of the season when MPJ realized he was hurting and wore his Mizzou jersey for the last time.

Disagree there. Florida is pretty good. Still can't be losing games at home.

Florida is a good team. They’re full of really talented players. They’ve been ranked in the top 25 multiple weeks.

2014 - 14th ranked class nationally
2015 - 17th
2016 - bad class - 69th
2016 - 19th

We’re one year removed from Kim Anderson. Rome wasn’t burnt down in a day.

I actually called that TO. My friends and I were watching the game, and when Cuonzo called the timeout, I told them we would turn the ball over and not get a shot at the basket! Lol....what a horrible coaching job today! You call timeout, and set up something that goes towards the basket. You never under any circumstances pass the ball backwards with 5 seconds left. Defense has the angle to intercept the pass. At the 8 second point, and I don’t care who has the ball in their hands, you drive the ball to the basket. Then 1 of 4 things is going to happen. You shoot you score....you get fouled...you make an interior pass....and the worst case scenario, you go into overtime!
The least thing you do is throw a pass backwards, 30’ from the basket!
I realize the officiating didn’t go our way, and I wouldn’t expect it to the rest of the year. We have the rap of fouling inside. Tilmon, Porter, etc...One of the reasons is we try to block every shot. But all that being said, we had a chance to win the game at the end, and we throw it away. That’s pathetic!!!

We wanted to get the ball to Robertson for the last shot, which I'm fine with. Problem is, we made a lazy pass and he didn't come to meet the ball.

Have to give the UF player for making a hell of a play too

I agree on 2 things there....it was a lazy pass, and backwards, which you NEVER do at the top of the key, and he didn’t come get it. But, I don’t care who has the ball in their hands, at the 8 second mark, you make your move TOWARDS the basket. Draw a foul, make a shot, or go into OT. Just stupid! And after reading Cuonzo Martins comments after the game, he has no clue!
He said, and I’ll paraphrase... we were looking to get the ball inbounds and in the hands of Robertson so he could shoot it! Lol that’s it man...i shite you not! Why not set up a back screen and a drive....maybe a pick n roll...or hell just take the damn ball and pretend you’re on the playground, and go 1 on 1. Nope, we’re going to force a pass to Robertson come hell or high water!

Had the pass been on time Robertson takes an open 3 for the win.

Robertson is the right guy to get it to. Really the only guy we have that can get his own shots off the bounce.

It's a shitty way to end the game, but I don't think it was poor coaching. I like the idea it just wasn't executed correctly and beyond that the UF player made a great play on the ball.

Barnett didn’t take a shot the last 11 minutes. That’s partially on the coaches, he needed some sets run for him.
