Basically if he lives in mediocrity with 6-7 and a bowl loss at worse but 8-5 with a bowl win at best. I say 4 years. Am i too lenient?

I guess it depends on how it happens but 4 sounds about right to me.

I honestly think the admin is giving him 4 years. That's why his buyout really drops after year 4.

If he fixes the program and has winning seasons I think he will be fine.

I don't think now is the time to rinse and repeat with how much money is being dumped into coaches.

Let that fad end and make some money. I think most fans would be happy with an exciting team, compared to Bert looking like a fool during pressers and on the sideline.

If Coach Red Bull can start and finish strong every year and pick up a few SEC wins in the middle, he’ll be here 10 years.

That something Fat arse couldn’t achieve.

I worry about our fan base flipping shite year one. Same guys that wanted Petrino's head after his first season just taking a giant dump all over everything because we didn't win 10.

He needs to do better than Bert's first year, which isn't asking much.

Preferably 2 conf wins at minimum and win his OOC slate.

It really isn't that difficult IMO.

If he gets blown out by Colorado State or loses to Vandy, I think he'll catch heat.

We should win all four OoC games, and beat Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and one of Mississippi State/Missouri. That's an encouraging first year and doesn't rely on any upsets of teams that will likely be way stronger than us. Unless you count MSU and Missouri as "way" stronger. They were a bit better this year, but I dont see either of them taking a step forward.

I agree we should beat all those teams, but we need to keep our expectations in check for a first year coach after this past season and other programs new staff hires.

I honestly want to see LSU crash and burn with Ed O at the helm. With their players leaving and drama, it could really set back LSU and give us an edge in the West.

I guess missing a bowl or something wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but this is one of the few times we're going to have no P5 OoC team on the schedule thanks to Michigan bailing on us. We're also facing a lot of teams that aren't in much better situations than us. Vanderbilt is not good. Missouri is not good. MSU is pretty good, but they just lost their best coach of all time. Ole Miss is admist sanctions and we've beaten them four times in a row. They're also without Hugh Freeze now. I don't think asking for a bowl with the ease of the upcoming schedule being too much.

I agree. I just think Colorado State away could be challenging.

Also agree, but they feel the same about us and rightfully so.

They have had our number as of late and made a decent hire. I'm not a fan of Mullen like some are. Interested to see how he does at Florida. He's got just as much, if not more work to do and has a more unrealistic fan base.

One thing I love Bert for is whooping their arse with their most talented teams.

It's really not, but we need to execute and not have our usual issues. Also, we need to stay humble. That gets most if us, but we all want to win.

That's a good, level-headed way of looking at it. I guess I just feel like Arkansas football inherently has more upside and an easier time building than Vanderbilt - same way Georgia has that advantage over us, even though we could beat them sometimes, anyway. I really think that before even coaching a game that Chad Morris is a better coach than Barry Odom, but that could be arrogant and completely false.

If this is true, we're in for a long year. They've been a barely bowl eligible, middling, 7–6 team under Mike Bobo all three years he's been there. It's not McElwain's 10-win squad.

Don't know if it will be true, but different environment for our players. Sure we are in the all mighty South Eastern Conference, but we've shat games away to worse teams at home/LR.
