A little over a year ago we came close to winning 3 in a row against Bama and cruised NC finalist UGA 45-14. Feels like those games happened 5 years ago.

If you really want a mind frick look at our opening game of that season. OM vs FSU. Now look at the two programs today. New HCs and back up QBs.

I was at that UGA game. Crazy how fast things change. Sucks that it's for the worse for us tho.

Yeah I was at that UGA game, too.
I can't believe we finished that season 5-7 and got the brakes beat off us in the Egg Bowl. What a shitty season.

We had so many injuries, I lost count of 13 when we played the Egg Bowl. We could not have played in a bowl even if we had won and finished 6-6.
The key to UM success in prior years was no injuries - except the LSU game when we had 6 starters out.

I wish they would have left L. Miller in Lake City, FL. He mucked a lot of stuff up.

So how does Coach Luke get on the ESPN show last night?
Not a bad move to get him on the NC show, after all that Ole Miss has had to deal with the last 5 years.
Someone made a good decision. Can't hurt getting a little exposure before the end of the signing period.
I think the folks at ESPN are wanting a return visit to Oxford?

How could they not, after the way that whole day went down? Of course I have my red and blue glasses on, but my buddies that cheer for other schools that have never been to the grove said they would be there if Gameday came again.

^^^Yep, all we gotta do is somehow live up to our end of the bargain and give them an on the field reason to come.

I'm sorry, but I hate Alabama. They have been a huge problem for Ole Miss football throughout the years.
Fresh off back to back wins over Alabama and the first Sugar Bowl win in 40 plus years, it appeared that Ole Miss had a bright football future. But alas, the Alabama controlled SEC sends in their goon squad, better known as the NCAA enforcement committee. So now, Alabama is about to lock in an offensive coordinator and future head coach at Ole Miss' expense.
I'm still not sold that the whole investigation was not driven by those at Alabama, and I'm not sure that Hugh Freeze wasn't complicit in attempting to make his way out of Oxford.
Who in their right mind tells and NCAA investigator that the booster's at his school are out of control? What dumbass makes calls to an escort service on his company phone?
We've seem our share of WOAM moments through the years. Most just seem to happen, but losing Freeze to Bama would have to take the cake.

I mean, you can’t make this stuff up. Hugh applying as OC to the team we celebrated taking down. He makes this move his legacy in Oxford is completely shot IMO. Nail in coffin. Honestly, frick this clown. I feel bad for his family. Scumbag of a father. Superficial preaching visor wearing douche rocket is basically what I see now. Best of luck Hughie.
Edit: If I were one of his players I would take that canned apology letter he wrote, print it, and wipe my arse with it the morning after a Super Bowl party where there were dips available like heavy buffalo dip and spinach artichoke. A few Deviled Eggs would be the cherry on top.
Edit 2: I’d say the next fitting move would be AJ Brown transferring to Bama to play wideout for Hugh and company.

he's a piece of shite but an excellent coach. LSU's administration has no balls, so I guess it's not surprising we passed on Hugh with his recent scandal (Never mind our head coach is a domestic abuser.)
I called this a lonnggg time ago. With Hugh and Nick being "friends", Nick enrolls Hugh in his famous analyst rehab program; promotes Hugh to OC; and proceeds to shite on our dreams for years to come.
It's so depressing that I am strongly considering taking a long break from LSU football. Wake me up when Frank Wilson arrives to save us

Absolutely not. But it doesn’t help his perception from the fanbase he left in flames. Hugh’s biggest accomplishments here were beating Bama. Sugar Bowl win over a decent Oklahoma St, meh. Now there’s a good chance he’ll be facing off against us. Doesn’t sit well. If only he could have sheathed his dick when on the road.

I agree. Go out West, get away from this area for 2-3 years, and let everything clear up. Then MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, start thinking about coming back to the South.
