I don't remember him ever being this weak with the ball. Maybe I glossed it over with all of the losing, but he always seemed to at least be a solid player.

His TO rate is up and he's pretty much been a liability besides shooting the 3 well.

I can’t really tell with how little he’s been playing this year but I sort of see where you’re coming from.

I think he needs to be playing a few more minutes per game but I understand wanting to get Harris minutes to mature as he has a much higher ceiling.

Also, Geist is shooting 52% from the field and 47% from 3 this year. I guess that WV meltdown is what did me over with him. He is playing pretty well though.

Phillips is pressing NOT to make a mistake when he’s in the game. New coach syndrome.
Puryear is just nonexistent. He got stuffed at least 3 times that I can remember last night.

What’s up with refs not letting the players play? Seemed like a lot of bad breath fouls were called.

That's what I'm saying though. He was a solid player last year. Now he can't even dribble the ball. He jumps in the air to take a shot and comes to the ground without doing anything.

He's completely fell apart. I wonder if it's being buried on the bench, but he certainly isn't playing his way out of it.

my theory: he looked good last year because he was around lesser talent. Now that theres talent hes trying too hard and forcing the ball over.

Refs are ruining college basketball. NCAA wants offense, but fouling out everyone's bigs doesn't really help that. Also taking away 5 second call is really what put me over the edge. The NCAA has decided they don't want defense in the game. Really unfortunate since in basketball defense is what the foundation of a team should be built on. That's why it's become so difficult to win on the road as well. Defense travels, but not when they call every touch foul throughout a game. Officials are also calling a lot of fouls that have no outcome on the play whatsoever.

I posited that it might be tough for Phillips to adjust to his new role while watching the kU exhibition game. I don’t think I envisioned how hard it was going to be for him.

He is making mistakes he didn’t make last year.

Granted, no one had to really try to beat us last year. So it’s hard to know if he would’ve appeared as competent if our team was better.

I think we are quickly approaching the point where Phillips is going to be asked to transfer following this year which is just really a shame.

Almost assuredly going to add another PG in this cycle with the ball handling issues we have had, and I can't really see us carrying 4 scholarship point guards.

Unless he gets his degree at the end of the school year, TP isn't going anywhere.

There aren’t 4 PGs on the roster now.

I meant with the one we will add during this cycle. Harris, Geist, Phillips, new addition

That's too many.

The other option would be to not add one, but with the trouble we've had handling the ball...no Robertson next year...

We will desperately need some ball handling.

It’s not a guarantee that Cuonzo adds a PG in this class. We would take Ramey because he’s just that good. If he doesn’t come here, then it’s more likely that we see a wing or combo guard added to the roster, probably a grad transfer.

Usually PG’s are taken every other year.

Yeah, I disagree. Unless we see some vast growth from Harris then we most certainly need to take another ball handler.

We also lose the only two consistent scorers on the team, so we definitely need some help on the perimeter.

Help is coming. Watson and Santos will help fill some of the perimeter scoring and defense needs.

I don’t think Mizzou has any chance at Ramey, so I would bet that another wing will be added.

I doubt we get Ramey as well, but we definitely need to add a guard. Santos is an athletic wing and has a pretty nice shot, but he's not a guy that creates off the bounce. He's a lot like Barnett in that regard.

I can't see any need to go after another wing. One of our biggest issues, putting aside ball security, is that we don't really have many guys that can create off the dribble. Harris and Robertson occasionally, and the latter is leaving. I'm not expecting much from Pickett, but hopefully he's better than expected.

I wouldn't mind another grad transfer guard, but at some point we are going to have to get a longer term solution. We have to get some quickness and ball handling on this roster.

He doesn't get any playing time and when he does he presses way too hard. Don't know why Gonzo doesn't like him but he doesn't

The long term solution is Watson.
