Was the officiating pretty damn shitty today? From our seats it looked terrible but if you were able to watch on tv you got to see replays.
I mean, every time we would get loud and into it, another damn whistle. Also, I felt like I saw so many travels missed during the first 5 minutes of the game.

It was consistently inconsistent on both sides, I thought. For a while the refs would just let both sides play, then they'd get really ticky-tack for one side for a while but it always eventually swung the other way. Overall it was a very inconsistent crew with many questionable calls and no calls.

It wasn't THAT bad imo. Compared to how it usually is in the SEC, it was slightly better than normal.

This.
We missed 12 free throws which didn't help

It was bad.
Seemed like the refs tried to constantly interject themselves into the game.
When was the last time you saw that many fouls away from the ball?
Either let 'em play or don't... but decide and stick to it.

Definitely.
We were there and our entire section was going crazy about missed calls (#3 walked constantly and it was never called) and the ticky tack BS.
That was one of the most poorly officiated basketball games I've ever seen in person. Extremely glad we came away with a hard fought comeback win.

Yeah there were a shite ton of travel calls that weren't made.

I would say the refs were out to get us but they screwed up a lot of calls against the Vols too. They'd ignore obvious fouls for a few minutes and then call the most asinine penny ante stuff the next few minutes.
A great basketball game happened in spite of them.

I noticed this exact same thing from our seats. The refs helped keep the crowd very tame until the very end. I felt like we were getting screwed from watching replays, but then I looked over and saw the Tennessee actually was getting called for fouls. Seemed like the refs were interjecting at very random points.

I think that is what folks are most upset about, they'd swallow the whistle for a few minutes and then call the game tighter then spandex on a sumo wrestler for a few minutes.

This is one reason I can't really get into basketball. Officiating in college and pro ball seems to vary from game to game so much it makes it hard for me to get invested when an official can make a huge impact on the outcome. I am baffled when I hear commentators talking about calls should go a certain way based on the players involved.
