I watch it online sometimes.
Man....what coulda been at LSU.
My family had a connection to the pilot. Don't really wanna elaborate more than that.
It's still just as sad to this day as it was then.

What do they think happened? Why did the plane climb so much?

The plane was a pressurized twin, it is very likely that the cabin lost pressure and he and the pilot developed hypoxia. They probably slowly went to sleep and at some point they probably died still in the air.

i just never remembered that, though i was 11 at the time ... who'd ya'll hire after that? ... arnsparger?

And not that Arnsparger didn't do well, it's just that we were all in shock for years to come. My uncle didn't attend games for several years and he had inside connection.
And even Arnsparger would eventually leave us.....unleashing the Archer/Hallman darkness.

MikeAV8 summed it up. Watch the documentary. It's very thorough. Quite interesting....and quite sad.

It's just amazing to me that the plane flew that long all the way to the Atlantic with both probably already passed away.

Remember this but not a whole lot. Pre ESPN days news travelled slow. Seriously, I did not know charley Mac had been fired until I read bo had died and I didn't have the faintest idea who bo rein was until I read the article. I know this set back some progress. Stovall was thrown into a situation that was a no win.

This is the same thing that happened to Payne Stewart I believe. I remember with Stewart, they were actually following his plane with fighter jets and they said the windows were all frozen up.
Sad story for both of these great men.
