Auburn is the reason why. Auburn will beat Georgia again because a one dimensional offense isn't beating this barn team. That means a 2 loss SEC champion will get in the playoffs. Since a 2 loss SEC champion gets in there is no way they don't use that to justify a 2 loss Big Ten champion getting in as well.

I am sorry guys but the only way we get in is if TCU beats Oklahoma for the big twelve championship and that just isn't going to happen.

If only Nick Saban wasn't so intent on fielding a one-dimensional offense we wouldn't need any help. Our one loss is better than the other teams with.one or two losses buy we don't have any good wins. Our best win is versus a team that lost to Troy on homecoming.

Auburn lost barely to Clemson and barely to LSU. Ohio State lost by 31 to Iowa.

You're a very positive thinking person.

This isn't how it'd work if Bama got in over tOSU. The thought process would be that a 1 loss team should be in over a 2 loss team. The difference between Auburn and Ohio State being that Auburn beat Bama (plus Georgia twice) so they shot up regardless of those two losses. Ohio State on the other hand has no h2h claim over Bama AND lost a game at home and was blown out by Iowa.

Don't get me wrong, it's very possible we get left out if only Wisconsin loses, but it's equally possible, maybe even more so, that we get in ahead of Ohio State.

I don't know why, but I predict mania this weekend in the Top 4. I don't mean Auburn losing either.

I have a gut feeling that TCU and Miami will both pull off the upset. I could be totally wrong, but I just have one of those odd notions.

I would love to be wrong but how can they justify.leaving out a 2 loss big champion when they let in a 2 loss SEC champion? Now if Georgia wins we are in business.

I don't feel like typing it all out, but just think about what AU's wins and losses would be and what Ohio State's wins and losses would look like assuming both of them win their conference.

It's not just 2 losses = 2 losses.

I made a thread about this and you vehemently disagreed

Now your tone has changed.

It's the reality though. We ain't getting in unless TCU pulls off a miracle

They didn't put two loss Big Ten Champ PSU in over 1 loss non conference champ OSU last year. And that was when PSU had the head to head over OSU. Is this different solely because of the two teams from one conference thing?

Because that sounds like horse shite to me.

The committee does seem to like OSU though

I disagreed with you then until it hit me that a 2 loss auburn team will get in. There is no way then that they snub another 2 loss conference champion. I hope I am wrong though but a Georgia win or TCU win really is our only hope.

I don't know how all of this will work out and I'm assuming that Alabama is going to the Orange Bowl anyway.

But I just want to use this thread to take the opportunity to say frick FSU for sucking so bad without Francois. I understand losing the QB1 hurts but couldn't y'all have pieced together a respectable 8-4 record and maybe stayed ranked? And frick Tennessee for going 0-8 in the SEC. Seriously what the hell? And frick LSU for losing to Troy too. Our resume looked liked it was going to be much better but some of our big name opponents fell apart.

The two-loss SEC Champ didn't get the crap kicked out of them by Iowa.

It would be best of OSU beat Wisky on the last play of the game 3 to 2. We don't need OSU to kick their azz.

I think they should use the infallible football power index to decide this.

Currently (even after the IB loss):

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Penn State
4. Clemson
5. Auburn
6. Georgia
7. Washington
8. Wisconsin ( )
9. Oklahoma
10. Notre Dame
11. TCU
12. Stanford
13. Oklahoma St
14. Miami ( )

I totally agree. The other factor is that OSU was the only representative from their conference. They have never allowed two in from the same conference.

Ohio State is 3-2 against teams with winning records, with 2 blowout losses, one of them at home and one to a team barely over .500

Bama is 3-1 against teams with winning records, with a relatively close loss (winning in the second half, never out of it until very late in the 4th) on the road in the stadium of the #6 team.

Sure, Ohio State can get to 4-2 against teams with winning records by beating Wisconsin, but Wisconsin is not exactly considered a juggernaut and it's a neutral site game. Winning the championship is only one of the tie-breakers if a committee member considers 2 teams equal.

There is a very, very, very good chance that because Ohio State got blown out twice - was non-competitive in 2 games, one against a team who's barely .500, that they would consider Bama's resume to be better, maybe much better, than Ohio State's.

Alabama doesn't have an awesome strength of resume with regard to wins. But our only loss is a great loss, all things considered. Ohio State was noncompetitive twice this season and will remain out of the playoffs. 31-0 is also in the back of the committee members' minds from last year.

If Wisconsin or OK lose, Bama is in. It's simple.
