It’s like their fans don’t realize how much time and resources Bama puts towards maintaining their own program as well as undermining other potentially threatening programs.

How is it Alabama’s fault the other SEC schools can’t hire competent coaches? Or recruit better? Alabama shouldn’t have to try not to be successful just because the rest of the teams can’t keep up or are inconsistent (like in the case of AU).
