The 1989 Iron Bowl was the best of all time IMHO
Alabama was undefeated and heading to the National title game before Auburn beat them in Jordan Hare, giving them their first loss of the season and costing them the chance to play for the national title.

Auburn could beat Alabama, as it did in 1982 when Bo Jackson went over the top to end a series-record nine-game losing streak, but the rivals could never truly be considered equals until Dec. 2, 1989, until the Crimson Tide walked into Jordan-Hare Stadium for the first time.

Followed by Bama chasing Bill Curry off to Kentucky.
Bill Curry... still winless against Auburn to this day.

Literally chased him! He tells stories about that game and then leaving Tuscaloosa. He said a brick with a death threat tied to it was thrown through his window while his wife was home alone.

Glad to know now that punt block would have resulted in a 15 yard leaping penalty against Auburn.

Auburn has won these game in ridiculous ways.
2 blocked punts for TD
The Camback, with a 30 fumble/touchback
The damn kick six
If Auburn wins Saturday, it will be on a blocked field goal, safety, hail Mary or something weird.

It would be had it not been for the Kick 6. That game had everything.

technically the fumble occured on the 20 yard line (after a nearly 40 yard gain).
However, the game also included Trent Richardson dropping a short pass in the endzone, ultimately where Bama ended up kicking a short FG. Plus, McElroy gets popped on the AU 10 yard line and our dumbass lineman is looking at the QB while the ball is RIGHT BEHIND him and stands there and watches Fairly crawl on the ground around him and recover the ball.

Good teams don't surrender that kind of shite.
Sorry for winning.

It's not a surprise. Auburn is a erratic, freak program incapable of doing anything consistent or normal.
I mean just look at this year. They can't decide whether to fire their coach, give him an extension, or if he's going to just quit to go to Arkansas. And if he does go to Arkansas they have no idea if they should be happy or sad about it.
