It's hard to hold these kids responsible for their reaction to losing. After all, their facebook friends, reddit subgroups, twitter tweeters and message board amigos have been constantly telling each other how invincible we are in Kirby's "new era". It's gotten to the point they can't even tolerate a mild question about Kirby's team or coaching without launching a mindless attack of personal slurs. Unfortunately, their absolute certainty was misplaced as usual.

Half the fans on this Board think that once the committee anoints you as #1 it somehow makes you invincible - and a loss is unacceptable- despite what the other team may have to say about it.

I love HTDawg’s positivity and optimism in the game threads.
Even when things aren’t going our way, he never rushes to judgment in every game to say that we are overrated. I mean, who would say that?

Yeah, they sort of forgot that our quarterback is a rookie and our head coach is very green. They didn't notice that our secondary has been showing pretty frequent signs of vulnerability, our pass rush was lackluster, our offense was too one dimensional. Also apparently never noticed that our biggest division rivals are in meltdown mode this season and weren't exactly a strong measuring stick for greatness. It was a good run, but we were never the best team in the country and obviously very beatable if you looked semi-objectively.

I'm still all in. We caught some bad breaks tonight. This is a damn good team. Much better than we have seen in the past several years .

Well...we really didn't know how good we were because the East really sucks - and we got ND early.
