I think you got them all.

Someone told me today that prior to Mullen, Mississippi State had entered a November game with Alabama 7-2 or better just twice.

Mullen has done it five times in eight seasons.

State was 8-0 heading to Tuscaloosa in 1999 ranked #7, I believe.

From those undefeated starts, only 5 times did teams go on to be undefeated.
Bama 92 & 09
Auburn 04 & 10
Tenn. 98

Think that’s correct?

Why in the world did aTm think it was a good idea to fire RC?

Auburn got it in 1993 as well. Other than that, I think you're right. I could be missing others as well, though

Edit: sorry chappaslappa, didn't see your response. My bad

I think it was the same deal as Phil Fulmer, Mark Richt, and Les Miles. The school probably just felt stagnant and didn't think any hardware was coming any time soon to relieve the feeling. It's killed or seriously damaged a lot of good programs. Nebraska, Texas, and Tennessee are probably the ones hit the hardest by restlessness, although Texas hasn't really sucked all that long.

Technically, I would leave off 1993 Auburn, or at least put an asterisk beside it, since the team only finished the regular season undefeated, without playing in the SEC championship or a bowl game.

1994 Alabama, 2008 Alabama, 2016 Alabama, 1995 Florida, 2009 Florida, and 2011 LSU all finished the regular season undefeated, only to fall in the postseason. You shouldn't be rewarded for cheating and being banned from the postseason.

Because he lost 3 games at home in a single year. You can see how our standards have fallen.

Hard to believe AU is the last SEC team to run the table with the run Nicks had.

A&M in the SWC doesn’t compare to the SEC.

Aggy and Auburn were on probation for the undefeated seasons in ‘92 and ‘93, yeah?

Impressive, some of that was during a strong SEC West. Miss St still having Mullen is a blessing, no doubt...

A&M played in a bowl in 1992, so they can't have been on probation. They lost to #5 Notre Dame 3–28.
