LSU used a variation of what Aggie used to defend our run. Hurts ability to make them pay in certain circumstances is the difference. He had a couple over throws and one bad throw, but overall he balled. Those drips killed us on a couple drives a few missed PI calls. Hurst delivered tonight.

Hurts and Scott should share MVP.

It may have been the best all around game of his tenure.

Yep, Jalen played pretty well tonight. He has stayed in the pocket, stepped up in the pocket and threw some darts. Kudos to him.

I don't understand all of the drops. Is it because we lost Napier?

Tonight I think it was just freshmen being freshmen, otherwise it hasn't been all that bad this year.

However, there were a couple a PI's that weren't called either

Nah.

Just true freshmen not ready for the big game.

Hurts played well. Our receivers don't exactly have great hands. And our offensive line leaks like a sieve.

And our run game, while dominant against cream puffs, is sort of pathetic against good defenses. Harris is the proverbial big fish in a little pond, makeing his stats against weak competition and not showing up against good defenses.

I'm beginning to realize that a lot of our offensive shortcomings that I attributed to Hurts lack of field awareness may be due to a crappy oline and receivers who seldom make plays.

The D looked soft. Soft and weak.
After the injuries, watching Holcomb try to rush the edge was pathetic.

Meh. This team ranks in the bottom quarter of Saban's Bama teams. We don't even look as talented or as physically strong as we normally do.

Maybe too much success has finally dulled our edge? We'll know by the end of the year.

Before that last drive, Saban challenged the team to push it down their throat. The offensive line promptly collapsed on first down. That said it all.

Jalen made plays all night under pressure. No turnovers. Stayed poised. Several times when most QBs would be sacked, he escaped bought time and made clutch first down & TD plays -- running and throwing. He balled out tonight!

Hats off to the defense, JKS & Pap too!

Something that this offense is missing from this offense is that we don't seem to be willing to run at pass rushing specialists repeatedly. Seems like it was always a massive part of a Saban offense, but we've been allowing these guys to pin their ears back this season and rush straight up field.

By that you mean they put 8 guys on the line of scrimmage and challenged Hurts to beat them through the air. He responded the best he ever has to that challenge. The offensive line did not.

Well if you don’t think Kevin Steele and Kirby Smart aren’t going to put 8 in the box and make Hurts beat them, you’re crazy and UGA at least has the players to make it tough. This OL better change their tampons and be ready for war. I’m really starting to think it’s the scheme/coaching. Nobody recruits more OL studs than us and still we struggle in big games. Arden Key is very good but he’s one guy. The rest of their DL is not up to their usual standards. Clemson’s DL will prison rape us again if we face them. Something has to change.

Because the 5 offensive linemen and a tight end are going to beat 8 guys every time.

Defenses don't have to respect our passing game. They think we can't beat them if they stop the run and put pressure on the qb. If we could hit the receivers in spaces where those linebackers just vacated, we could stop a lot of that.

Did you see any running room at all in the game? Harris and Bo had to break tackles and drag defenders just to turn a zero yard gain into a 3 yard gain. It’s not their fault the OL has played like crap against every somewhat decent DL this year.
