Biggest fallacy about coaching searches.

You are not going into negotiations with a HC while he is still coaching his team towards the end of the regular season.

You can talk to his agent and accomplish the same thing while retaining your current HC until the end of the season.

The only HC I can recall that would take actual calls from suitors in season was Houston Nutt and is that really the type personality you want in a HC because that is exactly what the "making the job known to be open for a head start" accomplishes, any decent person says, "we will discuss after the regular season".

I don't see where it has helped Florida at all, as of yet.

Did tenner learn it's lesson from the past?

I really don’t give a frick about our coaching search right now. That was simply an aside.

I don’t really care what our solution is, but a fire needs to be lit under this team. Who knows what our core issue is, whether the coaches are complacent and/or lazy or the players are or both, but I’ve not seen a team so regularly ill-prepared and consistently flat since the Ford era.
