shows how enept this coaching staff is and that a change is desperately needed, while still letting the kids enjoy a win.

Bert isn't the first coach here to have a barely won against the shitty sunbelt school game, he probably won't be the last.

On a side note, he wouldn't have lasted the weekend if he had lost. The win just extended his employment to the end of the season.

He isn't going to be fired before the season is over, there is absolutely no benefit to do so outside of fulfilling instant gratification for a portion of the fanbase.

What you really want to do during a bad year is fire the coach so his staff can start the job search early, quit recruiting, and allow the team quit only adding further embarrassment and frustration for the season, see: Florida.

Good chance he would've been let go tomorrow or Monday if this game was lost, I have no doubt in my mind. It would've been the single worst loss in the modern history of razorback football, and that's inexcusable in year 1 let alone YEAR 5.

We would've been the laughingstock of the sports news nationwide and that damages a program to the very core. That happens and you don't take some sort of action as AD then YOUR job, actions, and reputation as AD come into the national spotlight. You then have to change jobs or face being fired to save any sort of dignity the program has left.

Doesn't matter if it's not the right time for any reason or if you'd prefer to wait till the end of the season, you HAVE to fire the coach after that.
