Would have to hire a good DC and recruit good defensive players.

I like what I see from the offense.

I like pass happy offenses, but I just don't think we can run one for another two and a half years -- and Florida fans will not give him that much time to make one.

Taggart's pass offense rankings from 2010-2017 @ WKU,USF &UO: 115,102,90,108,95,95,70,95(current season). What is our issue right now......Passing offense.

Offense rank:
2010 89th
2011 89th
2012 68th
2013 123rd
2014 119th
2015 41st (with Flowers)
2016 4th (with Flowers)
2017 27th

Charlie Strong
2010 66th
2011 98th
2012 51st
2013 66th
2014 108th
2015 83rd
2016 46th
2017 15th (With Flowers)

Looks like Flowers is a special player and proved it for both coaches.

I will take frost. He played for Bill Walsh, Tom Osborne, Bill Parcells, Bill Belicheck, Eric Mangini, Tom Sherman, John Gruden, Monte Kiffin.
Coached on defense in college first then went to coach the offense under Chip Kelly.
That group is insane to play for he has it.

Yeah he brought his DC from Arizona St. I doubt he brings him here. That being said I think he's 3-4 down on the list if I had to guess:

1.Frost
2.Fuente
3.Norvell
4.Taggart
5. We're in trouble

I'd put Kiffin in front of Norvell and Taggart.

I'd much rather roll the dice with him than those two, simply because I know his offense and attitude would work right away.

Norvell would be a terrible hire scheme wise, he'd need more time than our fan base would afford him to make it work with us.

Fuente is interesting, you don't want Campbell?

I don't think Stricklin would touch Kiffin. He's too much of a loose cannon. Would love Campbell, but I don't think Stricklin would pay for Campbell due to his lack of resume right now. There's also whether He would fit here. Too much unknown. Fuente would do great and IMO along with Norvell would help Franks.

I just don't think we have the patience, man. We're a savage fan base who wants results, and I don't think either of them (Norvell or Taggart, I know you didn't reference but just for the sake of argument) could make their offenses work here quick enough.

Fuente and Kiffin would have no problem but I completely agree -- Kiffin is a no go just because of his attitude (sad to say) and Campbell has like a 19 million dollar buyout or whatever.

If Frost says no, I'm going to be worried.

Nebraska fans think they get him but he hated recruiting at Oregon. He loves recruiting Florida due to the talent and proximity Nebraska has no talent and he just had a kid.

I know this has been posted before:

quote:

I've been recruiting all week,” Frost said last year upon taking his name out of the running at Oregon. “[One day,] I drove to a [nearby] town in Florida, recruited and was back in Orlando that night. [The next day,] I drove to another town in Florida and was back at home that night. That's a lot different than flying all over the country and sleeping in a different state every night.”

If the money is no issue he comes here IMO. What does Nebraska offer him other than nostalgia? That won't fix their talent problems

love Campbell,

I like Campbell as well, my only concern would be fit. He's a total midwest guy. Almost all of his coaching experience has been in Ohio and he's never coached at any level at a major program like UF.

Fuente is interesting,

Fuente's offense is heavily influenced by Mike Norvell

quote:

It was former Tigers coach Justin Fuente who decided to switch to this style of offense ahead of quarterback Paxton Lynch’s freshman year in 2013. Before doing so, he visited with Norvell, then the offensive coordinator at Arizona State, for three days.

Fuente “stole a lot of ideas,” according to Dickey, who also served as Fuente’s offensive coordinator.

Norvell is riding Fuente's old team and is 17 - 5 while playing in the ACC.

I trust him more than I do Norvell and if you don't you're delusional.

Fuente is far less riskier, no doubt. Just pointing out, that offensively Norvell is actually who Fuente turned to for pointers.

He also landed Riley Ferguson. I think we'd be just fine.

Right, he's also known to be a very good recruiter.

Take it for what it's worth but I have a friend that played for NB and he said that Frost has been back to Lincoln SEVERAL times in the last few months. He said Frost was there with his pregnant wife having a ball at the Garth Brooks concert. I just checked the schedule and that was the night before the Navy game. Wow, that speaks volumes if true.
