Eh, LSU recruits 5 stars and studs every year. It wasn't the talent that has been holding them back. They have potential stars all over the field just like Auburn.

And Florida doesn't?

Since 2010 LSU and Bama combine for most players getting drafted.

The number two combination: LSU Florida

ETA: teams that play each other every year.

FLorida has lost a lot the last 2 years and doesn't exactly scare anyone on offense. They certainly have talent but not on par with Georgia IMO.

Florida's recruiting under Mac is way down. It's one of the biggest gripes they have with him. Plus, they are missing something like 21 players via suspension and injury including most of their offensive weapons.

At full strength, LSU has certainly acquired more talent over the last 2-4 years. When you factor in suspensions, it isn't particularly close.

Well, lets compare Florida and LSU's recruiting over the last 3 years.
2017
LSU-7th
Florida-11th

2016
LSU-2nd
Florida-12th

2015
LSU-5th
Florida-21st

So, no. Since McIlwaine went to Florida, they have not recruited very well.

That's all well and good, but if you want a feeling for this year's team shouldn't take about 7 years off of those statistics. Florida has not recruited up to their capabilities for quite awhile now. The last time Florida finished recruiting higher than 9th was 2013. Very few, if any of those players are still on thta team. When you add that they have lost their #1 QB, #1 RB and #1 WR to injury and/or suspension....

Right now they are decimated. They tend to play their best game against UGA, but they are just so decimated right now. Not only are their top quality guys out, their depth is gone due to the suspensions.

Can they beat Georgia? yes. I'll be shocked, though if they do.
