At this point all involved should be suspended for the balance of the season and repeat offenders kicked off the team.

*Unless we beat Georgia and have a chance at winning the SEC

I don't want anyone involved in this who didn't plea ''not-guilty''. frick fraud. frick steroids. I want a clean program, send a message to the rest of these fricks that they're not welcome if this happens.
If we won every game with Callaway and Scarlett back, I'd still take the results we had right now.

I disagree wholeheartedly.
Being suspended six games is plenty. Especially now that they have it settled in court. No reason their whole career should be over because of this. The process has ran its course now let them play.

We don't disagree very much so I value your opinion but, how may times do you allow an athlete to get into trouble, get arrested, get suspended before you cut bait?
For something as serious as these charges, I think a full year suspension is appropriate. And if you are a repeat offender with charges this serious, it's time to move on.

My objection to the claim isn't based on a no-tolerance policy. I'm not a fan of weed, but they're not hurting anyone when they do that.
These dudes robbed people. They stole people's credit card information and used it to buy worthless shite. The school pays for almost everything, man, they have NFL futures and they were willing to throw it away over iPads.
Marijuana, underage drinking -- I don't give a frick.
Stealing people's shite -- frick 'em.

I agree with this punishment. They've already cost their teammates half a season.
But on the other hand, I do not want to see players go down with injury if it could have been helped with having some depth.
I'm torn with knowing we will get hurt down the road if they serve an entire season and that means they'll miss much of next season as well.

shite agreeing with Straws twice in one week... wtf is going on.
This has largely been my take on athlete "troubles"... if you do something *stupid* and it has little/no impact on others... figure out a way to penalize them reasonably. If you have such rampant disregard for others that you are willing to steal their shite, threaten their lives, or endanger them at best (ie. true DUI, not just asleep in the car)... you gotta pay a real price. Lengthy suspensions, no repeat offenders, etc...

None of these players will be playing this season.
Too bad about Telfort. He would have been a good tackle for Florida.

The fact is: If you let players get away with things like this -- especially like this, you are creating a culture. THAT does make a culture of insubordination and disrespect for law and authority. ''It's cool, just come back next year.''
If McElwain permits them to play on the team this year (especially this year) I'll be done with him completely. Honor and standards belong in collegiate sports, it's kind of the fricking point. I want a clean program, because I don't want to see the kind of shite that's going on at Ole Miss go on at Florida.

First off....I agree with and Straw and disagree also. But what most of you don't understand is that the court proceeding will get done...BUT the school displinary board will convene and THEY will decide the true fate of the offenders...so doubtful they play this year.
What I disagree about is that kids make mistakes and I don't think it was thievery against fellow students as much as taking advantage of UF. It still was a crime but almost every student has smoked pot and that's a crime also.
The point is, do we let kids who may be remorseful and still kick them of the team? Or give them a very short leash and give them plenty of extra duties to endure before they play again?
I don't know if legally the university can impose penalties such as picking up garbage (probably not) or maybe doing extra work to help equipment mgrs.? Something to reinforce that they have to pay for doing wrong.
If it were stealing scooters, possessing firearms or assaults....that's different...it really is. I'm more in the corner of seeing these athletes become good citizens than casting away their lives perhaps. We live in a tolerate society as far as mistakes made by youth. 18-20 yr old kids arent really adults yet as far as intelligent decision making goes.
Personally, I don't care if they play football or not. But as a society are we better off with them getting a degree? Yes.

Initially we thought they were just abusing school credit cards that are supposed to be used for books and things of that nature -- when in reality they were actually stealing innocent people's credit card numbers to buy things.
That's beyond ''kids will be kids'', that's straight up felonius, baw.

Stealing or being given those credit card numbers by other students ???? Most aren't going to roll over on friends.

Where do you get this? Are you saying they knew the people and stole their CC's or someone gave them cards that they knew they could use? Big difference.
Normal students have gotten caught up in this same thing. Most of them are NOT kicked out of school nor do they do any time. Most of the time it's reduced to a misdemeanor. Why must athletes be judged at a higher standard than regular students. They deserve a second chance. I'm not sure about Calloway as he seems to always frick up and this isn't his first rodeo. I'd most likely be done with him but I don't know his exact story.
I think many of us are too pretentious, thinking that we are UF and should demand the highest standards. Well, our rivals think we are the worst of the worst, a school full of criminals only here to play football. Most rivals would put UF below Ole Miss. They feel as if UF has been thugging for many years now. No decision on these suspensions will change people's minds.

I don't know all the details about Calloway either....but was his charges before this dropped completely? If so...then basically it is his first rodeo in legal terms.
Lets not forget that they have to pay restitution and will be on probation which usually means they have to pay a fee to be on probation every month...at least here in Florida. From what I gathered from media reports these diversion cases only involved 1 transaction of a credit card...hardly a scheme that's criminal in nature.
I do know THIS....I cant wait to talk football instead of distractions and beating UGA will help quieten the "noise" some....just as it did after the LSU game last year.

Legit question here. How many times has Calloway been in trouble though? Wouldn't this be his 3rd strike?
Posted on 10/27/17 at 12:43 am to UGADawg912
More than 3 times. He's been cited for not having a license 3 times already alone. Weed, riding around with a child molester and fraud.

Wasted talent. Needs his arse whipped
Kills me seeing guys like this, all the talent in the world and cant stay out of their own way while guys born without their abilities bust their asses to play while doing everything right and cant get on the field.
