He has the 6th highest buyout in the Sec, and that is with him being a first year coach....

And? The buyout was entirely one sided. There was no way any other program was going to come lure Ed away from LSU. If no other program besides Ole Freaking Miss had offered him anything beyond position coach and recruiting coordinator in his 30+ years in coaching, it wasn't going to happen now.

That buyout was bad and Alleva got played. You all acknowledged as much after MSU & Troy. The internet is forever bro. We can find thread after thread of LSU fans complaining about the size of Ed's buyout.

I am sorry the media sold you a lie you bought hook, line, and sinker

What's the lie? Your coach - a career position coach who had shown no ability to lead a team of LSU's caliber to the levels LSU aspires to reach - was given a massive buyout as a knee jerk reaction by your AD to getting turned down by options 1 & 2.

The buyout isn't just about THAT coach. It's to show job security to the top level assistants so they aren't SOL sooner than later with no buyout.

It's the nature of the coaching profession, most don't realize or admit it.

To structure a contract at a public university that is very unique, one that has no buyout, could raise some flags and potentially undercut the head coaches ability to perform him job of recruiting players and attracting top assistant coaches.
To continue to ignore this fact and push the buyout narrative shows your ignorance of the big picture or your alter motive.
