No shite? You're kidding?
Well, folks. This inbred son of a bitch wins the Captain Obvious Award.
That's great. Good job. Now go slap your sister around the trailer park.

No telling on this team yet. Offense yet to have to face a defense that can truly take away our run game.
It is early, but GA does look really strong this year. Even more impressive with a freshman qb. Defense looks pretty dominating.
However, and this applies to most teams, to be really great, they have to really be focused on each game. Every year we see teams blow a game they should not.
I think, given the weakness of the East and West this year, that is something to watch out for. I would think it is hard to get up for teams that you should just roll over.

I gave up on Georgia a long time ago. Can't even remember the year, but they started the season 0-2 and all their fans were wanting to fire Richt
I said to myself, "self, just watch Georgia win every game here out and end up 10-2."
They did, and they played for the SEC Championship that year. Hell, I think they may have even won the damn thing.
Never seen a more fickle fanbase.
Until LSU.
Don't be dumb. We were on a 6-9 streak and then won 10 in a row. What fan base would not act wildly differently with both scenarios?

Not even close to as good 5 games in.

Yeah, I keep waiting for the rug to get yanked out from under me, but to his credit, Kirby seems to understand how to manage this. Natrez getting picked up yesterday didn't do us any favors, as he'll be out for 4 games, but I guess I'd rather not have him and get some guys depth *before* the Auburn game rather than during.
Long way to go still. But yeah, I'm happy with what I've seen to date for sure. I'm guessing that most Aubies are feeling pretty good right now as well with the last 2 performances... looks like offense has come out of its funk and starting to perform the way that most expected before the season began. Were it not for the fumbles in the Mercer game, likely no one is too concerned with anything other than the sacks given up in the Clemson game... that's just a good defensive front... 11 sacks is a lot, but they might do that to a few teams this year.

I think it is defensively and it's the deepest RB group we've ever had.-line is still a little bit of a concern but the talent is there to be a solid unit.
This is arguably our most talented roster ever from top to bottom (54 blue chips)
'05 was a damn good team as well.Lost 2 regular season
games they had no business losing (UF and AU)

Shock was out for UF. Can't remember if he was back for AU, but I think so? Ugh... that was a bad AU roster looking back unless I'm somehow discounting someone: LINK
RB looks to have been productive but not their most talented backs of the era for sure. QB was first year after they lost Jason Campbell. Obomanu and Aromashodu were solid upper classmen WRs though...

They haven't played anybody. They are being vastly overrated, with the way their fans are buying in so hard, crash back to earth will be amazing to watch. They'll pull a typical Georgia and choke to an underdog in the next couple of weeks. They won't play their first good team until November in Jordan Hare Stadium and will completely fall apart and get crushed. They'll be so emotionally down at that point they'll probably lose to Tech as well. But there's a good chance they'll still win the East and will get a second arse kicking in Atlanta to the winner of the Iron Bowl. Probably choke their bowl game too and everybody will be back to hating Kirby Smart.
When all is said and done this will just be another typical UGA season. Overrated early on, disappointment, and 4-5 losses. Typical.

Random but I miss the old South Carolina-Georgia games in early September. Always ripe for a good home upset

You're discounting a lot. That's a solid roster. Not tons of elite NFL talent, but lots of very good college guys, and plenty of NFL depth.
You don't mention the two Pro Bowlers on the OL (McNeill and Grubbs), or that Courtney Taylor is statistically one of the best WRs in AU history.
Very solid defense there as well and Muschamp was the DC.
That would have statistically been one of the top defenses in the country
Groves (RIP) and SeDerrick Marks on the DL were both good NFL players. Groves was a beast in college as well. Stanley McClover was a POS but very good college player
At LB Karibi DeDe and Travis Williams are both having successful coaching careers right now and were both All SEC type guys. Kevin Sears was solid.
Will Herring and Pat Lee at DB had solid and lengthy NFL careers while David Irons, Eric Brock, and Tristan Davis were all All SEC guys and other solid DBs like Pitts and Hobbs
You must be a young guy. Just because that roster only has a couple 1st rounders and pro bowlers doesnt mean that it wasnt a very good college roster with tons of NFL role players
The fact by your comment you seemingly dont remember Kenny Irons at RB, I'm definitely assuming you're still college age at best.

I love that your team is a rolling ball of shite eating disappointment. Every second you suffer is a moment of sunshine.
I hope Butch is your coach for the next 20 years. You deserve him.

Seeings how we've only had 4 seasons with 5 losses or more this century, I would say that was hardly a typical season? A typical UGA season does include an annual arse whooping of The AU BARNTARDS though...

Never change Bowl...
Perhaps "bad" was not really the term I was looking for... but you can't possibly be arguing that this was one of your more talented rosters can you?
I will freely admit that I'm not intimately familiar with SEC West OL players from the mid 2000s... Just because they had success in the NFL doesn't mean I equate them back to Auburn unless there is some specific reason to do so. I catalog a lot of knowledge in my brain, but I have to draw the line somewhere.
He accounted for 22 receptions and 278 yards in 2005... playing in 11 games... He may have had a good career at Auburn, but he didn't have a good year in 2005... No one said every player was complete shite. Holy overreaction... dem jimmies... they rustlin' on a Friday evening/Saturday AM.
This is true, and if I'd given it a lot of thought, rather than quickly responding after an initial glance back for the first time in probably 12 years, I likely would have modified my statement to a bad/mediocre offensive roster, rather than overall
With that said, they still gave up 30 points to the dawgs, so not exactly an elite performance... but were it not for a defensive score, Aubie loses that game... so ultimately, they got the job done.
I wish... would probably be out slaying instead of on a message board on a Friday late night... Again, my comments were made on an initial glance, not some in depth analysis of the roster and I would anticipate that you likely know Auburn's historical players a lot better than your opponents would... much the same as I'd know UGA players better than you would.
As to Kenny Irons, I remember him well. Transferred from USC to AU. Had a good 2005 season, but as I mentioned, hardly one of the most talented RBs of that era for Auburn... particularly coming the year after a much more loaded backfield with Cadillac and Ronnie Brown.

Take a look at 2018.
I think a lot of people are excited. I always tend to have Spurrier's words echo in my mind. Much prefer to face them later once their spirit is already broken.

If they'd had the UA presidential scholarship back when I was applying to schools (or if I'd known about it at the time), I might have taken the free ride to Alabama instead... The HOPE scholarship has done nothing but improve admission standards to UGA and even your dumb arse knows that. Troll harder... Not everyone can be so proud of their degree from a backup to a backup school.

To participate in the Hope scholarship, a 3.0 GPA is required, which probably feels like discrimination for all you BARNTARDS and your extra chromosome that your mothers said made you "special". But I digress... where was I? Oh Yeah a typical UGA season includes an annual arse whipping of AU ... nothing brilliant to say about that?
