I honestly don't understand why everyone always freak out when someone prays

That's not why people are "freaking out", just because he prayed. We pray before every football game, nobody cares. It is that he is in power and responsible for quite a lot of terrible things that are happening in the AD and trying to portray a victim-hood and hide behind a your faith that you are a good person is just sleazy.

You think the guy is just trying to appear as a devout Christian when he's really not? Who cares. It's not your place to judge anyways.

Well, considering he is running the athletic department that we all pay for, it kind of is our place.

Again...I don't know why we're trying to make something out of this. He more than likely prays before every single meeting he has with his employees and they all are probably fine with that. He is their leader, he feels that it is his responsibility.
Its not like we've found a little trouble and all of a sudden decided to go all 'holier than thou'

He's made 3 major mistakes in his time. Only one could probably be tied back to his morality (mistake #3 below).

1. Hiring a 5-19 coach to be the leader of a football team.

2. Hiring Sonny Golloway without properly vetting his reputation.

3. Not firing Corey Myers on the spot when this stuff surfaced, but was kept mostly quiet last year.

It's exactly why people are freaking out. Any time someone prays or talks about their faith when they are in a position of power, they get chastised as some sleazy person who's faking it.

No one cares when football players do it because it's not really reported. For example, Tebow's faith got media coverage and he got blasted for it.

Who says he was portraying victim-hood? Does he do this all the time or is this the first time? Just because this is the first time it's being reported doesn't mean it's the first time he's done it. You have to jump to a lot of conclusions to get where you are.

Well, considering he is running the athletic department that we all pay for, it kind of is our place.

Not even close. Why does it matter if he's a true Christian or not to you? Does that effect your opinion on whether he's a good AD or not? No. The fact that he is a christian or not has nothing to do with the fact that he's our AD. God is the only one who's in a position to judge someone's faith. I'm fine with you judging on whether he's a fit for the job or not based on his actions but not based on what you believe his faith is.
