It doesn't roll off the tongue quite like "Rebel Black Bears" did.

I'm getting the impression that they're trying to be PC and are hoping to obliterate the word "rebels" entirely, so they'll just become the "Ole Miss Landsharks"...

I think it is funny that Alabama fans don't understand this. You have an elephant as a mascot but your nickname is the Crimson Tide. Similarly, we are the Rebels but our mascot may be a bear or a shark or an old Civil War Colonel. Who really cares? It's for kids.

Tennessee Volunteers - Blue Tick Hound
Alabama Crimson Tide - Elephant
Texas A&M Aggies - Collie
Auburn Tigers - Golden Eagle (Yes they have Aubie too)
