State is probably one of the more diverse student bodies in the SEC.

Diverse, or a healthy balance between Black and White students?
I'm thinking several other universities likely have a greater mixture of nationalities represented on campus.

Mississippi is second in the nation behind South Carolina for percentage of residents that are African American. I think MSU is around 23%, which is highest in the SEC.

Her winning in a landslide is a good step forward for racial reconciliation in our state. We actually had our first black homecoming queen when I was in school in the 90s. There weren't any protests or anything, but thank goodness social media didn't exist.
