Because recruits and their families were getting financial benefit as a direct result of a relationship with an Auburn coach and as a direct result of a commitment to play basketball for Auburn

It doesn't matter that the Auburn coach got the money from Adidas or the tooth fairy, it was the Auburn coach giving the money to the recruits and families.

HE WAS NOT GIVING MONEY TO RECRUITS.

You people really need to read up on what this is about before you start talking about something you obviously know nothing about.

Your connection between the commitment and the benefit is really tenuous and likely won't factor in to action by the NCAA without more.

It won't effect eligibility, but of course it matters.
