Once you get to around the 20th ranked athletic departments in revenue, you see some in the red. Florida state, Iowa, Washington, Illinois. Those programs were in the red with the current set up.

Then allow athletes to profit off of themselves. The pay doesn’t even have to be from the universities.
There are several local businesses in Columbia that would be happy to have a guy like Phillips endorse their business.
There are ways to properly pay an athlete, based on the market.
