Why would We ?
He's got a true freshman who was forced into action because of an injury.... The only person getting fired this year in my opinion would be the OC.... Chaney...
Only an idiot would want to fire Kirby this early.... Especially the way he is killing it in the recruiting wars...

Chaney for sure has to go.
once that program builds up they can go and snag a big name DC also.

Our current DC is just fine.

That was Kirby's worst hire period....
Everyone else seems to be working out just fine...

Not saying he's bad, simply saying a program like Georgia can go out and get an Elite one

They'll just say Georgia is having a down year and State will now have to wait to play Alabama to be tested.
Both LSU and Georgia will then fall out of the polls and Dan Mullen won't be able to count them as "quality wins over ranked opponents." Same old bull shite.

I mean, it was a dumb question.

Point taken, but could it not be possible that Mel is actually one of the up-and-coming "elites"? If so, I'd see no reason to make a change. Chaney, absolutely. Still, even this game would be hard to pin on him if we lose. The QB situation just threw a wrench all into the offense, so it's going to be really hard to assign blame.

I think it's a pretty plausible explanation, especially if it's a close game. If you're being objective, you'd agree.

Faw Sho n I for 1 hope Chaney the best. I think he's done an adequate job so far making chikin salad from chikin dookey.

If we lost we would not consider it a down year. How would a loss to a good State team change our perception of our team, when most UGA fan expected 1 or 2 losses? This may be the best team we face all year, and I hope we come and play like that. As long as its competitive, and we have a chance to win in the 4th quarter we will still be confident of Kirby and our team. Last year was a down year, no matter the result of this one game this team is on the rise. You guys might have just got lucky and got us before we get to where we are going to be. Good Luck on Saturday and looking forward to a great game.

Sic, they know it's a plausible explanation...they are just already trying to play the Rodney Dangerfield angle. For them, it's a foregone conclusion that they are going to win Saturday. Additionally, they all seem to expect to win in the same fashion as last week, so the expectation is that we are going to get beaten so badly that we fall out of the polls and never recover this season because they "broke" us.
No hidden excuse...it is what it is, we will suit up on Saturday and see who wins. MSU may win, and may win handily.
There is also the possibility that MSU gets handled...what then? Do you want Mullen fired? I mean, he doesn't even have the built in excuse of having a Tr. Freshmen QB thrust into action before he was really ready to take the reigns.
These things work both ways.

Kirby smart might not be a good coach (we really don't know, atm), but he isn't a clown like Ed orgeron. Sorry lsu but you hired a dumbass that is a good motivational speaker.
