No one figured out the scouting report on him until his first start against the Bengals. Their DC (Paul Guenther, IIRC) said that their gameplan was to not let Manziel roll out to his left. He was very unique among right handed QBs because most of his best passing plays came when he rolled left instead of right. That made him very hard to defend and figure out. No one figured that out until Cincinnati in 2014.

When I made my post I was actually remembering a play where he rolled left and threw some ridiculous bomb.
