Ummm. Someone in this thread just pointed to Louisville.
That was 9 months ago. You're telling me that he didn't jump ship because he knew what was coming? His heart was always a bulldog?
I'm only bringing this up because a miss state fan thought it was funny to see the louisville dropout over the past 9 months.
Tell yourselves what you need to in order to sleep better at night. I don't care about miss st or Todd grantham. I just thought I would point out the irony of the past 9 months (and the past 2 jobs)

I won't agree or disagree with your assessment of Grantham. I'm sure you have your reasons for your position. But, MSU fans know what they had to watch last year, and how it compares to what we've seen this year. So yeah, we're damn happy with Grantham right now. It's just a matter of perspective

I'm not trying to be the a-hole.
The point about not recruiting, over playing the starters to pump up stats, and bolting before the fall is in response to this quote.
It was his own Stat that tells the tale.
Welcome to Todd granthamland (and yes, I get that he was an upgrade for you. We had good defensive moments in 2011 and 2012 as well with him).

It had been the rumor that Grantham and Petrino had not been getting along for sometime. I don't blame anyone for wanting to leave Louisville for an SEC job anyway.
State is dynamic enough offensively that they don't need a top 10 defense to be competitive. That they are getting it so far is a nice bonus. But to say what happened in Louisville or at Georgia is automatically what's going to happen at State is really just wishful thinking.
The reason State fans are relishing the Louisville dropoff is because they hired State's DC from last year...who was a walking, talking shite show. Nobody here is surprised that they are 104 in total defense now. We saw that movie last year.

if his defenses are "as bad" as they were at Georgia or Louisville (even at the end of his time at those stops) it will still be better than what we have seen except for 1 or 2 years in Mullen's time at MSU. Mullen is going to field a competent offense. He does not have to field the 85 Bears defense in order to kee a job here.

Could you do me a favor and break down the defensive starters and backups at MSU and tell me their recruiting profile? You (like LSU fans last week) seem to think you know an awful lot about MSU's defensive personnel when in reality you are completely ignorant on the subject. Thanks in advance.

Grantham was a good DC at Georgia. He had some issues but the UGA hate for him is mostly ex-girlfriend bitch-hate.
That being said, State is going to get painted up like a Bob Ross mountain before being streaked over with a knife of Van Dyke Brown.
