The Mississippi State stadium DJ is the GOAT

He had that place rocking all night. So many classics. I was hype even though we were losing by a million. LSU should hire him so I can jam to some piped in music in Tiger Stadium and drown out our band.
I know Starkville is a really small town and the overall event doesn't draw as many fans as some other SEC towns/venues, but the traffic situation getting out of the stadium is always so smooth. I got out of there easy, and was in Jackson listening to Mix 98.7 (the GOAT poor people FM radio station btw) in no time.
Love State's campus. Their fans are always awesome and accommodating. Had an incredible meatball sandwich at one of the tailgates where we were invited. Shoutout Mrs. Linda.
As for the game, I expected State to win, but obviously not by 30. I feel like this is how the 2014 game would have played out if it weren't in Tiger Stadium. There would have been no comeback and State would have won by 30-40 points, similar to this one.
Seems like a similar formula for State this year as they had in 2014. Good dual-threat quarterback with a good to elite defensive line. Although, the LSU offensive line is so bad that it probably made the State defense look a little better than it is. However, I still really like that front 7 for the Bulldogs.
I said after Week 1 against BYU that LSU isn't that talented, mainly on offense. That opinion hasn't changed. This is the least talented offense we've had in 15-20 years. The offensive line and wide receivers are bad or below average units. I don't think Etling is terrible. I think he's an average quarterback working with limited talent. Average quarterbacks need good to great players around them to be good. For these reasons, I think Myles Brennan should get a shot. Despite his inexperience, he might be able to fill some of the talent void on that side of the ball.
I predicted 9-3 with losses to State, Florida, and Alabama before the season. Based off that game last night, 9 games will be tough. But we'll see. Lots of other teams in the West have some major problems/question marks right now, too. I also just think that was a bad matchup for the LSU defense. Against a dual-threat guy like Fitzgerald, your linebackers are going to find themselves drawn in and sometimes confused, flat-footed, etc. That leaves your cornerbacks on an island. Jackson and Toliver aren't good players at cornerback for LSU, which is one of the main reasons I thought State would win.
Anyways, Hail State. Y'all are better than us this year and were much, much better last night.

Talent isn't the issue. Coaching is your problem.

We have a great defensive coordinator and what most people think is a good offensive coordinator. We looked flat and lacked energy, and that's certainly on the head coach.
But yes, we do lack talent on offense. The offensive line is garbage and more importantly lacks depth. The receivers are below average. Balls were hitting them in the face last night. Average quarterback. Besides running back, there's not too, too much to work with on that side of the ball. It is what it is. Still, gotta find a way for more production, that's for sure.

It's always amazing when fans of other programs come to Starkville for a game and leave with great memories. Most of the shite you hear about State and Starkville are by people who have never stepped foot in it or are Ole Miss fans. Several times as we were on the Dawg Walk waiting for the players to arrive different frats would bring groups of LSU fans down the walk to get clanga'd. Every single one of them had their phones out videoing it and were having a blast. All except this one older couple who accidentally came down. They were legit petrified

That was my 4th time in Starkville. You can definitely see the change.
I never thought it was bad in the first place, though.

I agree with this, although a big improvement over the last couple of years. Glad he dropped "welcome to the jungle" from the playlist this year. Every time he would play it in years past we'd give up an 80 yard TD on the next play it seemed.

I read it because it quickly became apparent you were being gracious and doing so at length rather than begrudgingly with all the graces of someone who feels forced to be nice. You actually seemed to mean it, and that's a breath of fresh air on the Rant.
I don't even like MSU much.
