CBS' parent company Viacom owns CMT. I wonder if that's part of the reason they keep forcing these "new country" artists on us.
Of course, they also own BET and MTV, so they could try a little variety.

This.
Country music died 20 years ago.

I blame the whole thing coming down on Rascal Flatts, though.
God I hate that nasally sounding fricker. He sounds like he's singing through a kazoo.

Are you a leather or cloth kind of hand bag man?

frick Jason Aldean, frick Sam Hunt, frick Jake Owen, frick FGL, and frick any of the other greasy-haired, Ed Hardy-wearing, shallow, pandering, vapid, soulless bro-country bottom-dwellers I may have overlooked.

Yep
If you can't find the talent in "Wichita Lineman" then I doubt you actually know what talent is.

New country is awful.
Pop/bro country is awful. But there is some incredible music being made.
Subgenres like "red dirt," "Texas country," and bluegrass crossover country have a lot of great artists who are currently touring (Randy Rogers Band, Cody Johnson, Whiskey Meyers, Stoney Larue, Wade Bowen, Turnpike Troubadors, Tyler Childers, and William Clark Green just to name a few).
That's not even to mention guys like Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson who are killing it in Nashville.
Country music is not dead, my friend.

Yea what good songs were ever made with synthesizers in it?
You don't like current music because you don't want to. Not the era's fault.

Steve Earl was recently quoted before a show here in Athens... "Today's mainstream country singers are just doing hip hop for people who are afraid of black people.” Sums it up.
Anything that the Marxist Steve Earl says is ignorant, more so anyone who thinks he is smart and worth quoting on any subject.

There is very little good music made nowadays. All this pop shite is ruining real music. It's like we're all bending over to 13 year old girls.
There is some great music being made out there.
Get off the broadcast radio and you'd find it.

Sandstorm, Who Let the Dogs Out, and Don't Fear the Reaper are the only acceptable intro songs
