It is nice and I'll feel better seeing how our defense does against missu this weekend. It still irks me seeing the diss we got. While very true we surrendered 504 yards, NC State ran 99 plays and had an average clip of 5.09. Not great but not terrible considering we only ran 50 plays for 246 at an average of 4.92 against that "vaunted" defense. I just wish peeps would like at the complete stat lines instead of cherry picking bits and pieces. We also had 3 short field TDs which reduce our total yardage as well.

The thing that goes unnoticed by most observers and unheralded by the pundits is the thought process that lead to a lot of those yards. with our first, i believe, 2 drives in the 2nd half, we went up by 14. Thats with 9 minutes left to go in the 3rd quarter. We spent the rest of the game playing to win. Everything on defense was keep it in front of you, make them chew up as much clock as possible, and capitalize on mistakes. We executed that game plan and had 4 sacks and 2 forced fumbles to show for it while only giving up 1 TD.
On the other side of the ball it was take care of the football, give the defense time to rest, and take care of the football. If Bentley doesn't short arm a couple of those throws, we would have had a couple more opportunites. However, with the muffed punt, we were in terrible field position for much of the rest of that half, so again we were playing don't screw it up football. Its not fun, in fact its pretty nerve racking, but a lot of our games are going to look like that. Do what we can to get a lead, do what it takes to keep the lead, capitalize on mistakes by their team, win the field position game.

Because on 99 plays they only scored 4 times.
Like he said it was by design. Bend don't brake defenses give up yards and plays but don't give up points and get turnovers

Didn't know there was such a thing as a D with "brakes". Bend but don't "break" only works vs shite teams. Good teams will break you.

If we win convincingly this weekend I would say we'll end up 18-21 range. Depends on who loses in front of us though.
