The most cringe worthy press conference ever.
Cringe worthy highlights...
4:25 - 5:05 - Pat Dooley asks who will be calling the plays
11:30 - 12:44 - Mac reaffirms that Doug will continue calling the plays and that he's the man.
That's pretty much it other than the, "uh, um, uh," we got after ever other sentence.

Did he specifically say Dougie is calling the plays? I never heard him say it.
His coach speak is terrible.

I guess you're right but I don't trust mac enough now to actually take the reigns.

He almost sounds like he is calling the plays now but is scared to ruin his career and admit it .

I don't think there's a coach in the world that would publicly throw his coordinator under the bus after the first game of the season. Now, if we still have problems by week six, it's just a matter of time.
But McElwain is not going to say anything regarding his OC, he's just going to take over the playcalling duties and not tell anyone.
If I were him, I'd let Nuss do it for the first half against Colorado and then do it myself for the second half where we've got the most problems.

Mac's problem comes from lack of adjustment and Nuss has ZERO feel for the game. Like THROWING 25 TIMES WITH A RUNNING QB!!!

It will be obvious to see if Mac started calling plays on the sideline.
All I would like to hear is what is being done about a crappy OL. You may see changes this Saturday and they just aren't announcing them? If you watch replays of the UM game you will see several different OL inserted in the second half.
Center and RT were weak spots imo and it appeared those two were out of shape and were tiring easily.

Honestly it's got to be the scheme/talent. Davis maybe unqualified but this OL looks no different than when summers was here.

Here is what burns my shorts....some of you are too young to remember Spurrier's coaching years....BUT he would be PISSED OFF.
Mac and Sumlin could have switched places for their pressers....this horseshite " its a learning experience and we will correct whats wrong" or " we will learn from this shite.
WTF are we going to learn? We all saw the disaster, I guarantee you Spurrier would have said we got out coached and believe me there would be changes in personnel. He would have yanked Franks early on trust me. He wouldn't have put up with Zaire for more than 2 series.
What also burns my shorts is Mac saying in his presser they "thought" about inserting Luke Del Rio in a 2 minute drill....WHAT??? Down two scores?
Mac better learn to HATE losing....at least I know Muschamp hated it. Spurrier despised it.

More and more I look back on the Muschamp years, the more my opinion changes on him.
Really.
I know some Gator fans here hate the guy, but given the circumstances (albeit really shitty offensive coaching and recruiting), he did well.
A lot of people forget Urban left UF absolutely fricked.

Muschamp inherited a mess from Urban. In one year Boom turned the defense around completely. In 2012, his second year we were oh so close to a BCS championship game berth but turnovers cost us against UGA. 2013 we had a disaster injury wise, 2014 was baffling and Booms fault. He just bad luck and didn't get the right OC to help him. Remember he grow up his early teen years in Gainesville and watch many Gator games then.
He loved the Gators but Spurrier didn't show up when Boom went to see him...walked on at UGA after his dad moved to coach high school there.
Believe me we owe him gratitude for the defense he left, he just wasn't ready to be a HC.

Huh?
Urban left WM the team the same way WM left it for Mac. No offense but a loaded defense. WM is a terrible coach and his offenses are terrible. They just had like 30 yards or less rushing vs ncst and just like Butters here less than 250 yds of offense.

wow, i just checked thinking you were full of it and low and behold...
Pass Yds: 215
Rush Yds: 31
How do you score 35 points with so few yards? One was a kickoff return.

I honestly didn't realize South Carolina had only 250 yards of offense with that many points

We may need SOS to come save his school one more time, in some way.
