...has failed to reach 250 yds of offense TWENTY TWO times, 2nd most in P5.

Compare UF talent to similarly bad Os…

First, Urban tried to fit Brantley into his offense when he was clearly not a fit.

Post-Urban UF then tried to install pro-style instead of utilizing those in state athletes in a spread scheme.

Once they get back to a spread-option offense, they're going to be a nightmare on offense again.

Good thing they hired that offensive genius Jim McElwain!

Florida hired two former Alabama offensive coordinators to run the team/offense. They were both successful at Alabama because of superior talent. Nuss failed at Michigan when the talent leveled out. Mac was successful at Colorado State for one year. Neither came make in game adjustments, and they consistently fail to get the ball to playmakers.

To me, it seems they are trying to force a game plan based on what worked at Bama. It's not working. Florida has talent...just bad coaching (again).

At the same time, it looks like Muschamp learned from his mistakes and is cutting loose a good offense at USCe. I have a bad feeling that he gets his revenge against UF this year.

I'm not so sure about that. USCe put up 35 points but 14 of those points came off a KO return TD and a NC State turnover deep inside their own territory. USCe had 12 first downs and less than 250 yards of offense and pretty much got dominated statistically.

It's also worth pointing out that Alabama themselves have overhauled what they do on offense since the days of Mac and Nuss.

Not to be unexpected when there is staff change but in this case, it was very much an intentional decision by Saban to evolve with the times a bit in what they do on offense.

Saban is installing all kind of schemes into his offense. They are not some plain vanilla ground and pound. It is quite impressive to see them running different alignments.

Mac's offense is very predictable, there's very little presnap reads or any misdirection. You can tell what they're going to do when they lineup. What is frustrating is that I can't remember when they have successfully thrown a quick slant or out pass? I see zero timing in pass routes. It's like all our routes take seconds to run? WTH? Sure the offensive line was horrible but you have to have some quick 3 step drops, dump off screens to slow a pass rush don't you? I see high school teams running more competent, innovative offenses than this shite show.

You can say the same thing about Georgia and LSU frankly.

Since I'm not a fan of either school it doesn't bother me. But Urban Meyer would kill to have the spread qb talent within 50 miles of New Orleans/Baton Rouge or Atlanta in any given recruiting year.

Yet you guys trot out that pro set/I formation thing, year after year, when the talent each state produces screams out for another approach.

Don't get me wrong, each state produces enough talent to make it work, against most teams.

But I really don't get why you want to, when an alternative you are much better suited for (the spread) is there.

I said yesterday in a Mullen to Florida thread that Florida never recovered from the 1-2 punch of losing Mullen and Tebow.

it wasn't Tebow as much as it was Mullen.

Know how many times a Mullen coached MSU team has failed to reach 250 yards?

5 times. 4 in the 2011 season when he had a drop back quarterback in Russell that couldn't run his offense. That's with Mississippi State's talent.

True. But UF only managed 3 points. USC's offense is progressing while UF is regressing

Haven't developed and kept (Grier) a good quarterback. Inexcusable.
