Expecting the defense to be better is mostly about trusting BO as a defensive coach.
He was considered 1 of the 10 or so best defensive coaches in college before last season. If he's really close to that good of a coach, the defense will be much improved.
It's probably a year or 2 away from really having his guys as upperclassmen and defense being 1 of the better in the SEC, potentially.

I don't know what we'll have. But I'm guessing we'll have a serviceable defense that improves as the season progresses. That means tough games against South Carolina and Auburn. But, it also means we should have a shot at a lot of games, and should expect better than 6-6. I think we have a 7-5 type of year and have an upset or two that are fun to watch. Last year was a complete collapse on D. Expect improvement.
