This whole thing is getting out of hand
Even the NYT is noting that militant leftists groups were basically given the red carpet into Charlottesville and police stood down - and let them attack the protesters. Protesters by the way that had their permits pulled mid stride and were basically released into the mob. Also this was just another in a series of building conflicts and was orchestrated by allowing these groups to come together unhindered.
I guess if you're a white nationalist you have no right to protest and the local authorities will just open the gates and let you get attacked? This only reinforces their message. What do they think is going to happen at the next event?
It's laughable that the message from this is how Trump has emboldened white supremacy groups - while Antifa and BLM are basically moving around the country attacking whomever they please while while law enforcement stands by and watches.
This is only going to get worse.

If you're a white supremacist, you absolutely have the right to protest, but you don't have the right to protection from a well deserved arse beating.

He has. His campaign strategy was in part to play on fear and prejudice...and he had been doing so for many years (such as his nonsensical "birther" strategy years prior). That's why we voted for Donald Trump."
Trump intentionally appealed to these people as well as the more mainstream, closet bigots...which is why Trump is having to balance a fine line about calling them out. Duke is right; this is a part of his base. They love him for a reason!

I hope these Nazi groups bring it on and we'll go back to the late 60's. Except this time, it will be much worse for them. Their goals are never going to be achieved through democratic means because the vast majority don't support them. So they have no recourse but to function as terrorist groups...and will be dealt with accordingly.
