Birmingham will have a professional soccer team starting in 2019. For those unfamiliar with the USL (United Soccer League), it is the 2nd division of professional soccer in the US. Many MLS teams have an affiliate in USL, some MLS teams have a reserve team in USL. It seems that the new team will absorb the Birmingham Hammers, which is an amateur team in the NPSL. Team name, logo, colors, stadium details, etc. will come at a later date.

pvilleguru, do you live in Prattville?

Montgomery. I've just used this name since the early 2000's when I lived in Prattville.

Saint posted this in the recruiting thread. He is getting transferred to an air force base down there with his family.
I wasn't sure if you could help him or not
Sorry for derailing the thread. I think soccer will do surprisingly well down here

Does anyone here live in Prattville? If so, what neighborhoods should I be focusing on?

I wouldn't mind them keeping the Hammers name, but get rid of the soccer ball on the logo.

It'd probably be easier for him to list what neighborhoods he's looking at and then we could advise him. There's not many bad places in prattville to live.

Hopefully the Bham council will move forward with the plans to renovate the BJCC.
