USA Today poll predicting all CFB records.

Has the East with UGA winning the division at 8-4,6-2
FL runner up at 8-4, 6-2
Tenn third at 8-4, 4-4.
MIZ in fourth at 7-5,3-5.
SC 6-6, 3-5.
UK 5-7, 2-6.
Vandy 5-7, 2-6.

I guess the scheduling could lead to this outcome. Looks like most aren't sold on any team in the east running away with it.

Its a race to 9 wins this year boys! LOL

nice to see someone give us small bit of credit. I'd have to agree with the 7-5 prognostication. let's hope for even better.

The East should be a toss up this year. I do think Georgia winds up on top of the heap but the division is about as wide open as its ever been. Any team could beat any other team and no one would bat an eye.

Whereas in the West we are stuck with Bama squatting on top of the rankings and one or two teams hoping to have great years to challenge them.

tenny - I think too high.
UK - I think too low.
I would switch their places.

Mizzou - about right.

Head-to-head winning will be super important with all the parity.

East has never been won with that poor of a record. Won't happen this year either.

If Georgia finishes eight and four, they will be livid. They have a pretty favorable schedule.

I agree. Media too busy cock riding Bama and Auburn to do any real thinking. Oh well.

I'll take 7-5. I can see Mizzou getting a win over Tennessee or Arkansas to go 8-4. If the coaching staff can do half of the turn around, for the Defense, that they did for the Offense last year then Mizzou should turn some heads.

Not totally in tune with other East schools schedules, but I think the overall thought is probably right. East lost alot of talent, but not that much. They have Georgia losing 2 non-con games (out of Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Samford, and App State). Georgia actually has a solid QB situation, and solid pieces around. They would be a bit higher IMO (9-3 or 10-2), but other than that...Pretty on board.

It's also refreshing to see someone giving Kentucky a reality check.

The UK hype this off-season has been baffling to me. Both Mizzou and SC are better bets.

a win over Tennessee

Tennessee is replacing both primary ball carriers, their #1 WR, their starting TE and the starting QB. They still have Oline issues. Dobbs was a good athlete and ran for his life on passing downs last year. The new QB doesn't have those kind of wheels.

With a defensive two deep full of 4* players the Vols allowed 536 YPG and 37 PPG vs conference opponents. That was worst in the division.

I think Butch will be hiring a realtor by the 2nd week of November.

Did they lose a lot of experience on the defensive side too?

3 of their best defenders (Sutton, Barnett, Reeves-Maybin)are gone to the draft and they lose 75 of their 100 TFLs due to the draft/end of eligibility.

I think 7-5 for Mizzou is right on the money. If UGA doesn't win the East this year I'd expect Kirby to be on the hot seat fairly quickly.

I really dont view Georgia as the favorite. That would be Florida imo. Im not sure he goes on the hot seat after year 2. Georgia would be really stupid if he was. You hire a guy, you have to give him time even if the results arent there. Coaching carousel is the last place you want to be.

Back on point, I dont see where any team in the East looks to be great. There is plenty available for the taking this year if we take care of our own issues.

Kentucky has a surprising amount of athletes this year. I think 2-6 is too low for them

I'm not sure if I'm sold on Florida either. Didn't they lose quite a bit on D? Also, didn't they lose one of their best returners on D to a season ending injury.

I'm not saying that Florida's defense is going to be bad, but I don't know that they will be as good as they were last year either.

Last year it might have been the best in the SEC. No way that's the case this year. Their offense should be better though. Still a good football team

Are there SEC fans and media saying that Florida won the East 2 years straight because the East is down?
