Overall, LSU #3? That's surprising. I see it's because the defense is rated highly. No way LSU is a top 5 team at the end of the year, though.

No way Mizzou will rank that low offensively. Take that to the bank.

Tennessee fans, are you even remotely that confident in your offense? Those projections for us feel like about what I would have guessed but I think our offense will be better than that even.

After last season's injuries I'd be thrilled with #54 and performance on defense.

#54 is unacceptable with the talent we have and how much we're paying Shoop. They better get their shite together this year.

We ranked 95th in total defense last season, had the 2nd worst defense in school history behind Sunseri and gave up the most yards in school history.

Jumping from 95 to 54 is acceptable and would've led us to a 10+ win season last year with room to spare. Better would be top 40-30. Beyond that, I just can't see. Talent or no to go from 95 to something like top 25 would be a feat. It's possible sure, especially with Hoke and Warren on board, but not a very likely scenario.

Honestly, the only thing that worries me on offense is the OL and they're supposed to be the strength of the team this year. They have experience and OL has the most depth we've had in 10 years (not an exaggeration at all - member the torn ACL walkon OT we played against y'all a few years ago?) but until they show it on the field I'll be nervous about OL. Everything there looks great and I really like some of the players - talent upgrade is huge but that OL has struggled off and on since Dooley's brilliant decision to recruit zero OL.

Skills positions are interesting because we lost star power at QB, WR, and RB but RB should be good (Kelly had more rushing yards and ypc than Kamara last season) and Ty Chandler and co. should be at least be able to account for Hurd's 3.7 ypc. Kelly still has to prove he can be the main guy to carry us through an entire season but anyone who's watched him run knows how talented he is. His potential is big.

At WR - We lose Malone who went beast mode last year. IIRC, he had the most TDs and best ypc in the SEC for a WR but Jennings was our most important WR. Jennings turned the V. Tech game, stole Florida's soul, and jammed the dagger into UGA's heart and he's back.

The WR corps has looked better than I've seen in a long time. There's a ton of young talent with the Sophomores and Freshmen and the oft injured old man Josh Smith might actually be healthy. At least one of them will step up and help Jennings - probably more than one.

QBs - I haven't seen the QB corps have two QBs this good on the same team since some of Fulmer's rosters. Dormady will start imo but Gaurantano will play. The talent is there for both and the big question will be how do they perform under live fire. I think we will try to stick with QD with JG getting playing time unless Guarantano blows the doors off the place.

All that said, 8 is probably a bit high considering it all still has to come together. But the potential is definitely there.
