Canada turned Nathan Peterman into a 5th round draft pick. He can create a productive offense with Etling,
Peterman was 4* out of northern florida. Canada didnt turn him into anything. Chaney got him to Pitt once he was sent packing by jones.
Not saying canada isnt good or he didnt help, but he didnt turn NP into what he is. I would say NP comes from the Tebow mentality, and thats what got him through the change of path he had to go thru. So NP turned himself into a 5th rounder.

Etling is going to really surprise some of yall. The dude can throw the football. I don't know who ever said that but he is very accurate and has a pretty strong arm. I just watched a game where he threw the ball over 60 yards in the air and the reciever should have run under it but hesitated in his route. He can make all of the throws. He is smart. He makes good decisions. He doesn't beat himself. Most importantly, he can get our playmakers the damn ball, unlike brandon harris.

He doesnt have quite the zip on the ball that harris had but he makes up for it in accuracy...meaning our recievers actually have a chance to catch the ball, and most of the time he hits them perfectly with a very catchable ball. He can make all of the throws. He is smart. He makes good decisions. He doesn't beat himself. Most importantly, he can get our playmakers the damn ball, unlike brandon harris.

There's at least one excuse left.

Well, it sure as hell didn't take long for Spears to be proven wrong.

After Miles was fired Etling was very good at moving the chains and protecting the football in every game, minus the Bama game. It's as if everyone forgets that. Kid has talent, maybe not as much as some of the other QB's in the SEC, but he can get it done. He helped Ed O out score his opponents 317-122 in the 8 games he started for O, all while not being able feel one of his legs due to injury. Now that has been corrected. That said, worries about Oline/WRs are significant so it remains to seen if he can be as productive.

Why would any LSU fan disagree with that statement?

Not this year IMO. I wish Canada were at LSU 2014-2016.

Jet sweep against SEC speed is going to be ugly
Depends on who is running the ball...
Onterio McCallebb at AU had 810 yards in 2010 at 8.5 ypc to lead the SEC in ypc for the season and almost all of his yards came on jet sweeps.
He did, however, have Cam Newton at QB to keep the defense honest since he could pull the ball back at anytime and take off himself.
Might be better to say jet sweep against SEC speed is going to be ugly when you have a statue for a QB.
